I pretty much agree with Jem.Of course i feel sorry for her if it's true, but she waited seven years. That alone has the sound of cash registers going off in my ears. She's ruining the poor mans life.To add insult to injury players who treat woman like animals get away with it.Matt isn't denying haiving sex with her,he's denying it was rape and i believe him.

She's runing Matthew Johns life? How about how her life has been ruined? You can't be absolutely sure about what happened. And these cash registers you keep talking about. What money did she get and from where? The ABC does not and would not pay for these interviews. You are looking at this through a very very slanted POV. Its not pretty.

I'm not the only one.You seem to think because she's the woman she's automatically the victim and i don't necessarily think that's true.Like i said at the start i would feel sorry for her if i believed her but i don't.I'm sorry if that offends you,

My moan is that my hands are FREEZING!

I think assuming she's automatically lying is as harmful as automatically believing her. There are these massive pre conceived ideas that float around these football players sex scandals these days that if a woman comes forward and reports something one side will yell she consented and she's a massive tart, and the other will believe her without question because she's a vulnuerable female. No one knows enough of eithers position or the situation to say what kind of person she DEFINITLEY is, or what kind of person Matty Johns was all those years ago, or whether it was a really massive mistake where both parties played some fault. Without them re-opening the police investigation it's probably not something the public will ever know. I think it's a sad situation all round and I hope the other players involved will step up and not let him be the only one to shoulder the blame.

Do you honestly think she's not going to get any money out of this eventually? No tv or magazine interviews?I'm not going to argue because that's your opinion,i don't agree but please don't make me out to be a cold hearted b!tch just because i don't automatically think she's a victim.

Not directed at your post Krystal.

If Matthew Johns raped her, he ruined her life. But he didn't do it in public so that every person in the country was talking about her and judging her and calling her scum and a liar. She, on the other hand, has done that to him, and offered no proof except for tears that he did anything wrong. And yet, his life is being destroyed whether this is true or not. Nobody really cares whether he's innocent or guilty, and they don't want to wait for any proof before condemning him and lobbying to have him fired from his job. They just want a story to run and sell newspapers and ad spots on TV. It's sick, and it makes a mockery of victims who actually do want justice, not just publicity.

As for him not "naming and shaming" the other people involved, ever think that those people might be married, and the crime he's covering for them is adultery? How does it fall to him to destroy other peoples' lives, the way that this woman has destroyed his, simply to save his own ass? I don't think that's fair at all.

I'd love to get involved in this - but truth is I live in this little hole where I don't see sunlight or hear of any news. I heard about swine flu about a week after it begun. :P

My moan is that I'm a week into the "drink 1.5 litres of water a day for 2 weeks" challenge (aka The Volvic Challenge) and I've only just begun drinking todays lot of water - and it's 20 past 10 at night. I've drunken about a quarter of a litre so far. I'm going to be peeing all through the night. :(

^^

So healthy :P

I always seem to need to pee! So I think I'd just live in the bathroom if I did that

My Aunty just had a baby but wants to be left alone so they can have time to adjust and all that.

Now that's all well and good but...

You don't have a baby to hide out <_< I want to see the baby! :(

I'm so tired but I can't bring myself to turn off the computer :( And I have to be up at 9 and I really don't want to go to college. And afterwards I'm going looking for a job but I can't be bothered but I have put it off for too long now and it needs to be done.

I agree... Im wondering though did this girl consent? Yes, she probably consented to group sex with a few players (Johns included) but the entire team who thought it would be OK because she didnt actually say no? Did she say yes? How powerless was she in a room full of big brawny footy players? So many unanswered questions...

I am wondering too if Johns was not a huge footy star, if he was just your random, run-of-the-mill bloke no-one knows the public would be so understanding.
