Eli Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Probably the most pathetic moan ever, as I should be happy about this... But yeah, it's very stressful. Basically I have a job, but it's a freelance job (let's call it job1) so I'm cutting down and instead getting another job or two. For months I've been trying to do this, and I haven't had a single offer. I haven't even been called in for a single interview. And now I suddenly have five and a half potential jobs. We have job1, where I was offered more hours, but I won't do this. Then there's the small job, job6, also freelance, but I won't do that one either. Today I had my first day at job2, where I've now been offered a 50% position. Fine, probably saying yes to it, but here's where it gets tricky: I also need another job, as job2 is only 50%, and I'm practically cutting out job1 altogether. So, in just three days I have three more offers. First job5, which we're also turning down, as it sounded crappy, it's like a small personal assistant job thing. Then there's job3, which is a fairly small position at a store, then there's potentially job4, which is a bigger position at another store. Problem is, I can't say yes or no to anyone unless I know for sure what I'm offered where, and how flexible those hours can get. So, tomorrow... I'm taking half a day off job1 to call job4 at seven o'clock, trying to talk the boss into letting me get an interview before 10 o'clock, when I have an interview with job3. Then I have to return to job1, while I try to figure out what to do with jobs 2, 3 and 4. Then I have to call job2, tell them whether or not I need to cut down on one of the days, depending on the deal I make with job3 or 4, then I have to call job3 and 4 and let them know, before I talk to my boss at job1 and make a deal there. Looks like there will be no "year off" for me at all. All I really wanted was a week off this fall, but that doesn't look too good right now... But on the other hand, if I work like a maniac now I can resign from all jobs next spring, be completely work free for like two months while I travel... basically the world (since I'll have to do all the trips I was planning then) and then move and get a new job. Good times!

Plus I can't get hold of her...! Why do I always have to do all the running? Luckily watching old HAA eps has put me in a good mood!
