Harper continues to be quite insufferable, not even letting Tane get a word in edgeways to explain why next Tuesday (or was it Thursday) was a bit tricky; it seems she's interpreted "I'll be there for you" as "you say jump, I'll ask how high" and no take-backsies. Hopefully if she had allowed him to speak she'd have been more sympathetic to the explanation, but I'm not particularly convinced of that given her recent behaviour. Isn't she meant to be a social worker, and didn't she help cook up this whole scheme that brought Perri into Tane's life in the first place? I'm not going to be impressed if she starts giving him ultimatums about who's more important. Not that Tane was without fault: he could have persevered and explained but he chose to do the ridiculous soapy thing of being needlessly vague and ploughing on with the double-booking, apparently deciding it can be a bridge he'll cross when he comes to it. Which was spineless and just playing into Harper's fantasies about being his new OTP. Ultimately while it might be nice for Tane to be at the scan, I don't think it's anything like as pressing as Perri's court appearance. It's not as if the foetus will be feeling neglected, and Harper would get over it - or could book an alternative date.

Leah is going on a bit (OK, a lot), but somehow I can't help thinking that the show is likely to vindicate her in her dislike of Claudia even though she may not yet have enough evidence for that position - and I am starting to think Justin is getting over-involved in a way that's liable to backfire. Nothing of real interest going on with Mali and Kirby.

I nearly fell off my chair at the Colleen Smart mention! Surprised 7 weren't worried that it would lead to its 'shiny new' Insta-loving audience turning off in their droves in sheer outrage at the mention of a character last seen more than three years ago! (Maybe since the River Boys would remember her it's okay.) But... sarcasm aside, it is actually welcome.

Yup, I heard that Colleen mention. Maybe Alf should visit her one day in Vegas! "Strewth, they NEVER turn it off over there!" is what he'd say when he came back.

I'm not a Harper hater so can see her in  a better light.  Quite rightly she couldn't/wouldn't comment on what others were saying about how involved Tane was gong to be without talking to him.  He does want to be  involved but then he's also involved with Perri so in between a rock and a hard place.  He agreed to going with her to the scan but then Perri found out he'd got his court date which clashed. OK she may have come across as him breaking his word saying he wants to be involved then ducking out and he could have told her why which she would have understood, there will be plenty more.  Perhaps she'll find out some other way why he was being vague.  You could blame Harper being tetchy on her hormones.

On that point Tane did suggest, kind of, that he and Perri find a place of their own so they could have the baby stay over or even live, but that's something else he'll need to talk to Harper about.  Harper is not, in my eyes, Felicity's understudy, she knows their situation.

It's just bad timing with Perri's court date being on the same day, btw it appeared he and Rose had made up after his initial bad reaction to her.  It was good of her to come and explain what would happen on the day, he'd need Tane to read the email/letter when it arrived anyway.  Coercion is a difficult thing to prove, it's the whole - in this case - he said/he said scenario as no-ne is ever around when it happens.  As  a kid he would have just done what his dad told him to do but then he got older and started to think for himself and question what his dad was telling hi to do.  It'll be tough for him but I think Clive's true nature will be revealed when he's in the dock.  I know he asked Tane what he should do but as Tane said he can't tell him, it's down to him, but that he'd back him whatever he chose to do.   Perri has come to rely a lot on Tane which is both a good and bad thing.  They did seem to enjoy their camping trip.

I said Mali wanting to keep him becoming a finalist a secret was because if he lost he'd feel he'd let people down.   That comp lady did, it seemed, did raise his hopes a lot, then it was revealed this other bloke had won, now he'll have to break it to his mum.   Despite himself though I'm betting he was already spending the money and what it would mean to the board shop and his lessons.

I said that about Justin hiring a driver to ferry Claudia about would be better, may cost him more and being the picky person she is would fault with everyone of them. Would they - or in this case - Justin - have to wear a uniform, salute her?   Of course Leah will find out Justin isn't working at the garage, she does tend to pop round on the off chance so Theo will need to be updated so he can tell her 'Justin has gone to a suppliers'.

Cash is so distracting himself by throwing himself into the workings of Salt and how he can, in his eyes, improve it, he's really pissing Mac and Xander off, of course he's doing it to stop himself thinking of Felicity but that can only go on for so long.  He's pushing Mac away by doing that when he needs her as a friend or is he also casting her as someone else he doesn't want to lose?

It seems Maz and John are acting as a team but it's Maz cooking meals for Cash and John delivering them. ❤️   At least Cash finally let John in and it seemed took his advice to at least get out of the house for a while.  I know Flick wasn't the tidiest of people but it was a right mess.

I picked up on that throw away line about Gary having gone, I thought he was staying until Cash seemed more stable?   He's certainly not acting it - see my comments above.

Levi didn't know Abigail was taking drugs when he initially let her steal money from his credit card. Levi should have made her go to the hospital.  He was lucky it was Bree who caught him taking the medical supplies and not another doctor.

I do have some sympathy for Harper.  She's pregnant, hormones are all over the place and you combine that with being in love with Tane so there's a natural tendency to be dependant on him.  I do appreciate Tane is also in between a rock and a hard place.  He made a promise to Perri and he obviously feels connected to him but he has to juggle that with saying that he was all in with Harper re the baby.  It will be interesting to see if Tane's attitude towards Harper changes once she gets further into the pregnancy and if he can keep up his committent to Perri.  I mentioned before but as more people have found out I am surprised nobody's really tried to reconcile Harper/Tane having a baby with how Tane was re Felicity during and just after her final moments.  It obviously bothered Cash seeing Harper and Tane hug.

Leah's getting annoying again with the whinging.

Well, I'll give Harper points for managing to stop thinking the world revolves around her enough to realise that her neediness is causing Tane to neglect a vulnerable teenager that he's accepted responsibility for.Cash did, at her invitation, ask her some blunt questions of the kind everyone else seems to be avoiding, but he treated her a lot better than he's treating most people. And by the end, he seems to have signed up to them all being one big happy family, although I'll acknowledge that Felicity probably would want Cash and Tane to be there for each other. It looked as though Tane's put Perri in his (and Flick's) old room and taken Nik's old room for himself.

Mali was being a bit ridiculous in keeping the competition results from Kirby: As Alf said, it wouldn't be too long before she found out anyway. And as it turns out, it was a waste of time as she was fine with it!

I don't really mind Levi keeping secrets from Mackenzie, although that may be because I don't really care about them as a couple and I do acknowledge that Levi finds lying very easy. But he handled everything appaliingly here, leaving Eden to cope with Abby (we finally get an on-screen spelling of the shortened version of her name, although I expect half the forum will still get it wrong!) while he hangs around Salt trying to annoy Mackenzie into forgiving him. And the result is Mackenzie giving an undeserved serve to Cash, who was being a bit of a pain but not as much as she made out. And even when she apologised, she still tried to bulldoze him. Yes, Cash hanging around "helping" and randomly throwing out ideas isn't the best way to handle this, but neither is Mackenzie trying to cut him out. I guess her resolve that having him as a partner might be good didn't last very long. Really, they need to find time to sit down and work out what his role is going to be and whether he might actually have some good ideas.

Colour me confused at Tane and Perri moving into... the house I thought they already lived in. Honestly, all the sets are so bland and beige (I'm trying this new thing where I don't say that about the characters) that I can't really tell them apart at all. But I swear they were in the one with the pool. Anyway, I then spent about 20 minutes skipping back through the episode on My5 (falling into numerous ad-traps along the way) to try and work out what the heck was going on, and realised there were numerous scenes, especially involving Mali, which I hadn't even noticed. And turns out Tane did used to live there, but maybe hasn't for a while.

Harper was definitely coming across a lot better today, and far from expecting Tane to bail on Perri's day in court, she actually offered to rearrange her appointment which was welcome. Yes, she could have just stopped yelling for five seconds in the first place to allow him establish this but then equally, Tane could have yelled back with the pertinent information, so... oh, well, it's sorted now.

I don't blame Mackenzie for being fed up of Cash sniffing around Salt. Of course he has a right to be involved if he owns the place but he isn't going about it in the right way - they need to arrange a meeting on a day she's off work to sit down and talk things through, look at the books etc, sometime and somewhere that isn't the restaurant in the middle of the lunch rush.

I find Levi so intrinsically difficult to tune into that while I was half-enjoying Mackenzie tearing strips off him, I've come away still not being sure what it's about. Getting back on this wagon is going to be harder than I thought.

😄 Tane did used to live there (since 2020), but had moved out to the farmhouse back in January after the split from Flick.

Ah, the farmhouse! Thanks - I think it's maybe that they have similar-ish layouts and Tane is another one whose scenes I haven't really been tuned in for up until recently. Oh well, slowly getting a grip on things again.
