Well done Levi! (I know, I can't believe it either!)

Carl's torturing Perri was actually a tough watch, Perri should've picked up a certain something methinks, yes he might still have been in trouble but maybe Carl would've been punished in another way.

I'm pretty sure I know a guy who's a full-time artist, I hire out his services once in a while.

Yes, sorry, I wasn't intending to suggest that nobody can be a full-time artist. Clearly some talented people make a decent living from doing commissions or whatever, or more broadly graphic design etc, and that makes sense.

I was more objecting to the specific situation of some guy who owns a gallery deciding, on the basis of seeing one painting, that he was going to employ Mali full-time to paint lots of paintings to... hang in his gallery? I'm reasonably sure that isn't a career trajectory that many (if anyone at all) have taken. Not that it matters much now as it seems Mali isn't taking it either.

Anyway... catching up after losing the thread a little for a few days. And things have turned out reasonably interestingly as we head into the break. Not a lot to say on the Cash/Eden/Michelle situation but so far, is it fair to say that the decision to contact her hasn't necessarily been a bad one for any of them? I'm not sure why there's such a taboo about it medically - I feel like if both parties consent to contact then it's a bit draconian to say it can't happen, although arguably you can imagine situations where the organ recipient feels obliged to meet and then things get murky etc, so maybe. And I'm sure they will get murky as we go on because hey, it's a soap - but just saying that so far, things don't seem all that bad.

I didn't really blame Marilyn for going off at Levi, given the confronting situation she'd just found herself in and given Bree had gone AWOL so more difficult to go off at her. Yes, Levi wasn't to blame for what happened to Alf, but I do think he needed to be made acutely aware of what had happened with Bree so that he could take some action. Which, to his credit, he seems to have decided to do, although I can possibly envisage scenarios whereby Remi and/or Bree might try to talk him out of it.

I always had in the back of my head that Claudia was probably a few pear drops short of a piñata - just something about her - and alas for Justin and Leah, so it has proved. Despite some really rather tense scenes leading up to it, I can't really see Justin being in physical danger as a result of spending the night in the car - except perhaps from Leah when she tracks him down the next morning and throttles him because she thinks he's cheated on her. I really think he should've started walking, and then at least he might've got a phone signal somewhere along the way before she went to bed assuming the worst.

Possums? I bet it was a possum.

I nearly fainted when Perri observed that people choose their own gender identity these days - which TV show does he think he's stumbled onto? I momentarily thought he'd opened the way for some enlightened discussion around this but alas, banality quickly resumed, with Tane and Harper deciding that they really ought to find out the sex of the baby so that... they know what colour clothes to buy them and to paint the nursery. Anyway, it seems Perri can't get away with challenging the Home and Away gender orthodoxy like that, because within a short space of time he's traumatised to within an inch of his life into a situation where he's bumped off his own dad, which is just an absolutely horrific way to cut the character down in his prime. I should've known this couldn't all end up with him living happily ever after with Tane, and here we are. Whatever happens I really hope he doesn't end up in the slammer, that would be horrendously unfair.

Oh come on!  Justin's a car mechanic and can't manage to hot wire a car!  🤪  Remind me never to take my car in for repairs at his garage.

Can you hot wire 'new' cars like you could with 'old' ones?

Can you hotwire a 'new' car like you could with an 'old' one. I imagine the manufacturers would now make them so they don't get hijacked.  He did give it a try so must have known from before how to di it.

It does seem Claudia isn't as stable as we thought she was, thinking she and Justin have a connection just because he's been nice to her, but we know that is how Justin is.  Had she been like that with any of her vets, it might explain Eric's accusation that she's  cheated before.  If they were 'nice' to her it would likely be that they were grateful for her help. Justin shut her down in no uncertain terms. It was pitch black when he was looking for his keys, they'll be there right under his eyes in the morning.  Well I certainly wouldn't have taken the risk of wandering off into the bush in the middle of the night with no phone signal.  Of course Leah has no idea where he is and that there is no phone signal, she's just thinking he's ignoring her calls.  I wonder if Leah and Claudia hasn't got off on such bad terms and she knew what Justin had been doing for her Leah  wouldn't be so wound up about Claudia?

I'm guessing Marilyn had a go at Levi because Bree wasn't there, us humans do tend to do that.   She did have the grace to apologise to him but saved her vitriol for Bree.  Everyone  thinks Maz is a pussycat who only thinks the best of people but you cross her at your peril as Bree found out to her cost.  The nurse who was asking Bree to give Alf his injection had seemingly disappeared so Maz had to find Levi who did exactly what Bree should have done.  Any doctor who has the qualifications could give Alf his injection and he did reassure  Alf he'd now be OK.  It was very sudden Alf's attack.  Alf was obviously feeling better as he was grumping about having to stay in hospital.

Now he knows what happened from Maz and I'll guess he'll be talking to Dana and unnamed  nurse to get their account.  Ethically Levi can't say Bree, or any doctor, weren't doing their job  to a patient or relative but he can tell the higher ups.  He did catch up to her later and told her what he was gong to do.  May have just  been  me but I thought  it was Claudia he was walking up to, both being  blonde and it was dark.

Perri was getting way ahead of himself wasn't he re people choosing their own gender, babe hasn't even been born yet.  In the 'old days' people picked neutral colours for the  baby or nursery.

Was a nice moment when baby kicked.

Wasn't  Theo supposed to be going round to see Perri later, what happened there and I guess Carl just walked into the Newman house given their habit of not locking doors.  Neighbour Watch was useless again no-one spotting a shifty looking stranger wandering about.  All the action took place in the house and back garden which isn't overlooked. We won't know what occurred until H&A comes back.  The last we saw was Carl trying to drown Perri. Did he manage to wriggle free and attack Carl, hitting him so he hit his head causing him to fall in the pool?  All we did  see was Tane come home, see the knife stuck in the AVO which he wisely didn't touch and go into the garden.   Will the cops need to bring Cash back, it is his house after all.  Quite a dramatic cliff-hanger.

Confused.com, they said at the end it would be back 6th January but in one TV mag it said end of December.🤔

:offtopic:There is a new series starting this week called Return to Paradise which stars Anna Samson  who played Mia Anderson/Parata and also Tia Hara who played Andy Barrett.  I didn't recognise Anna as she's now brunette.

But I think the fact it hasn't been born yet was the whole point Perri was making. What he was nodding towards, without embarking on it directly, was that 'gender reveal' parties can impose a lot of preconceptions and stereotypes on a child before they're even out of the womb - because they're not just about the baby being anatomically male or female, but are often accompanied with all the gendered regalia traditionally associated with each (boys like blue, sports, fighting; girls like pink, dolls, housemaking), which might not be relevant at all to the individual child as they get older.

Well, it was broad daylight when Claudia first threw them away, so I don't know why he found it so difficult and apparently searched for so long!

They arranged to meet for a beer, in the usual television manner of just saying "We'll meet for a beer later" without specifying where and when!

Yep my bad there about Justin, but you know how it is you think you're looking in the right place, go back later and they're staring you in the face.

Wouldn't be many places to have a beer in the bay.
