Rather than speaking to Alf, Irene, John or Marilyn - or heaven forbid Pippa or Sally, Roo decides to google about experiences of fostering… The show shows signs of linking to Roo’s past and the show’s past and then does it’s best to avoid doing it.

I don't know about that. Remember what a nightmare Theo was when he first turned up? Felicity's got better since the early days as well, and more recently they've given Harper and Dana a home and shelter when they needed one. I suppose you could count Bree too, given what a nightmare her life was before she came there.

You got me on Theo and Les Soeurs Matheson.

To be fair, Roo probably hasn't seen Pippa since 1989 and they were never especially close, so I doubt she's on her speed dial!

Roo did, eventually, decide to go for it after reading all that bumf Harper gave her, it certainly cheered Tane up. I have probably said this before but would the fact Roo has had no experience of looking after such  a young child, nappy changing, feeding, lack of sleep due to Maia waking up during the night, unless she's a good sleeper.   Regular foster carers must find it hard to hand back a   baby they've been looking after so a newbie like Roo  would find especially hard.   Natch SW/SS will need to check the Stuart house over.

Roo was a bit of a rebellious teen back then and Sally was only a child herself.

Fatal error in all soaps with people having private conversations in public  places like the Diner and Salt and getting overheard.  Fair enough it did involve someone who Felicity cares about and was able to put her twopennth in about how she nearly went for it, but realised she was doing it for the wrong reason.    I saw the 💡 moment which spurred her onto suggesting a Fund Raising Night for Maia and putting Xander is charge, she is half partner of Salt and it is a very good cause so nuts to Mac.     A baby, any baby can only play with a certain number of cuddly toys and she'll soon grow out of the clothes  being donated so they'll be passed on to other needy babes.  It did kick Bree out of her woe is me mode, even ducking work to feel sorry for herself.  I think we all need a friend like Xander who listens but doesn't pander and tells it as it is. 🤗

Theo and Valerie finally returned then, I'm guessing it was only a couple of days?  Theo was lucky that he is one of those people who don't become dependent on drugs to get them by.  Valerie, despite her initial protestations, does.  I think when she first came to the bay, she was OK and felt 'safe'  so didn't need them as much, but now has fallen back into bad  habits - no pun intended.   Can Theo fake being high enough to fool her? I hope he flushes that tab away, be a real shock  if it fell out of his pocket and Leah/Justin found it.  Or even worse, Buddy ate it!  Leah & Justin would only blow a gasket if they found out about it by accident.  Justin, particularly would understand if she came clean - sorry again no pun intended.

You can add Dean to that list, he was really looked down on when he first arrived being  a dreaded RB, but really turned his life round, Ziggy who went from  a wild child to qualified mechanic, mother.  Bella, who certainly  went through some times but came through them. Though on  the flip side there was her brother Colby, he started out a good cop  but turned rogue and murdered his step father.

I'm absolutely frustrated with this storyline regarding Maia.  I've mentioned multiple times how I'm now really disliking Tane because of his attitude towards the mother and what he's been like with Rose.  I'm disappointed with Roo.  She acknowledged that she was going to find it difficult to temporarily foster Maia to both Alf and Felicity and it seems as though she doesn't even want to do it.  So she obviously knows that Tane is going to find it just as difficult.  There's also the fact when Harper asked if she wanted to foster because of Tane, Roo didn't actually deny it or answer directly but simply said she's doing it for Maia.  It looked like she was going to change her mind but then she goes on a forum looking at other people's experiences (Yeddit 😛) and decides to go through with the fostering after all.  Then you have Felicity, still head over heels with Tane and using Roo as a sounding board to indirectly express hurt that she's lost Tane because she can't give him what he wants.  And I think she was out of order going round to Xander's on his day off.  She suggested when she was planning the fund raising event with him it was because she and Cash were fostered but let's be honest, it's all about Tane.

You're in bed with someone and tell them you're falling in love with them, the person gets out of bed, gets dressed and leaves (ouch!).  I found the look on Valerie's face suddenly changing from joy to almost horror and how they played the music quite funny.  The way she reacted if you didn't have the sound on, you'd think he Theo was telling her he wanted to cool it for a bit.  I actually believe he just thinks he's in love with her.

I don't know if I've said before that Tane had crossed a line but he definitely did here. I think by this point it's not about Maia and making sure she's looked after, it's about Tane being arrogant and entitled and thinking that because he was the one that found Maia that automatically grants him a special place in her life. And it really doesn't help that he has people like Alf egging him on and grumbling that the rules are nonsense. Roo starts the episode thinking that it'll be a breeze to look after Maia in some sort of partnership with Tane (even though they're both given warnings by people who know more about it that it might not be that simple): I wonder if she's reconsidering being a team with him after seeing just how dogmatic he can be. I think Rose handled things as well as she could, and disagree with the main site suggesting she should have arrested him before there was an AVO in place to allow it, but Tane was being utterly ridiculous thinking he could call the police's bluff and somehow seemed utterly dumbfounded that it didn't work. The offscreen-ness of Sarge is getting ever more ridiculous: Here, Rose is at the police station and she still only talks to him on the phone!

Elsewhere, Theo tries some honesty with Valerie but seems too afraid of losing her to go in as hard as he perhaps should.I was actually quite pleased that Kirby was so blunt with Justin and Leah when they stormed in thinking they could fix things, which would have been just as bad even if she actually had simply been jealous. We get the odd hint that Valerie wishes she could be the person that, well, everyone already thinks she is, as in the scene where she acknowledges Leah actually has got it together.I know the therapy doesn't seem to have done her much good, but maybe if she tried it without falling back on the drugs every time things get difficult? But the promo suggests she still doesn't get it.

^Ha! It did cross my mind that she was thinking "Well, when Sally got married..." at that point but I forgot to mention it!

I remember your review ripped on the runaway horse bit
