I literally missed that whole period she was working in school because I stopped watching the show for years. She was like a counsellor or something right? How did that begin how did it end and what was general consensus on the forum/your own personal views on it?

I liked it and was disappointed it was so short.

When she returned from 6 months in Cyprus (having fled the bay from Jamie Sharpe), she met Tamara (who was staying in Leah's while she was away) and helped her. I think then Leah decided helping kids in the school would be a new direction for herself.

It lasted almost two years. Due to school budget cuts, Zac (who was acting principal at the time and dating Leah) let her go. It was used as a storyline to cause drama for them especially as they took on Evie and Oscar at the time as well as Hunter burning down Leah's house.

I was hoping after that storyline, Leah would get her job back but it didn't happen.

It was actually Greg Snelgrove who made Leah redundant after taking over from Zac. Dan Bennett made a lot of good decisions about the school when he returned to the show, but taking away the one piece of development Leah had had in years and sticking her back in the Diner was not one of them, although to be fair, the show has done a good job keeping Leah at the forefront since then rather than letting her be part of the furniture again.

Yeah but Leah owns 50% the Diner so it's a *given* she'd end up back there. Even Fred on Corrie pulled or a pint or two at the Rovers despite the Butchers' being his main priority.

While  Bennett was great but not perfect, The Higher-ups likely had him on a string until he decided to "dance no longer" and left again.

I disagree. They could have made a clean break and had her sell up, not have her take a step backwards.
