ItIt announced dates for.  Scotland and Ireland so haven’t heard its being cancelled. Where did you hear that

Sorry my mistake it looks like your correct the palladium. Dates. Are you definitely  cancelled  don’t know about other venues

It's not looking good, is it?  The Home and Away page has vanished from Fane's website but you can still see it on the archive.org wayback machine. It was still live a few days ago.  https://web.archive.org/web/20250114195529/https://www.fane.co.uk/home-and-away The London Palladium gig has been cancelled, as has the Birmingham Symphony Hall one. The page for the Lowry in Manchester has vanished, which adds up to the same thing. It's inevitable that the Bath one will be pulled as well.

I was going to the Lowry date and got an email saying that one was cancelled, I don't think there was enough interest unfortunately.

That's certainly what it looks like. What a disappointment for everyone involved.

It was a tour which I felt was on a knife-edge anyway. Bringing those people all the way over from Australia for four gigs, plus all the other overheads involved. Was there much publicity for this outside of the Instagram account and a few online sites? The Neighbours shows sell well, but this didn't make it over the line. I also wonder should they have done a photo shoot with Carly, Bobby and Adam rather than Tim, Gypsy and Chloe? No disrespect to the latter 3 but I think people's interest would have been piqued by the older ones. 

The failure of this might also tell us something about Home and Away's British fanbase. It never emerged from Neighbours' shadow even though it had decent enough ratings back in the day. Perhaps the people tuning in never cared about it in the same way as the goings on in Ramsay Street?

Yes it is a given that Neighbours always was the more loved and iconic of the 2 shows, and got more viewers even if H&A did get about 13 million on average. Neighbours got 20-21 million viewers on average, something H&A could never achieve. H&A always lived in Neighbours shadow in the UK. H&A does better than Neighbours in Australia though, but worldwide on a whole, in the countries outside the UK that it is shown I say Neighbours is still the more popular.

There are likely other reasons as well. The Neighbours UK tour was a success due to the cancellation then the revival.

Emmerdale is also another underdog soap like Home And Away, it has never achieved the success of Corrie and EastEnders.

That's a good point about the Neighbours cancellation and revival. That seems to have galvanised the fanbase in a way nobody could've predicted. Neighbours also has a core of longstanding cast members who are outgoing and are good at selling the show. They also do those silly and surreal "catchup" videos for social media which have taken on a life of their own. I can't see many of the current H&A cast gently taking the mick out of themselves or the show in the way the Neighbours actors do.

I am for one am gutted it was my birthday present. From my mum and dad  I was looking  forward to this so much  as were many members of this  forum  I think  some of the cast was  a coup. But  some not really  couldn’t stand the character of Adam  the actor was good I just  disliked the character. Immensely  I was  looking forward to seeing Bobby the most she was a great character I never. Got why neighbours. Was more popular. In the uk  I only ever dipped into it   And didn’t really,, enjoy it. Where as I have always loved home and away

I wonder if it was timing on the TV schedules which was a big reason which stopped H&A becoming more of a success in the UK, as it was not fully networked across all regions. Although 1992-1994 H&A occasionally got 16 million in the UK according to viewing figures.

Yes some regions of itv days got it at 510 after citv. Mine included some got it at 6pm. Then everyone got 6 pm when it moved to 5  I just never got into neighbours the same way  I do home and away
