The River Boys storyline felt so unsatisfying.

- The big mystery of the murdered police officer just ended with Rory and Dingo getting predictably arrested for it. There were no twists or intrigue at all. Fans were predicting that either Rory or Dingo were covering for someone, there was more to it, the female officer working with Cash was possibly up to something or maybe working with the River Boys, etc but it all lead to a boring outcome. The female officer was not as significant as we thought and there were no twists at all.

- Rory was introduced as a new character and told a sympathetic backstory to Felicity. Once again many fans predicted that Rory would either redeem himself, possibly be an undercover cop, or even lead to to big trouble for Felicity - a lot of rumours were that it would be Felicity’s exit storyline (dying or running off with Rory). Once again nothing interesting happened and Rory was just arrested and Felicity returned and realised she was wrong.

- When it ended I thought something must come next. Would people want revenge on Cash? Would Felicity be kidnapped? Would it be revealed that Rory was innocent and return?

Did anyone else feel that the storyline was unspectacular and felt unfinished? Plus it really ruined Felicity’s character growth unnecessarily right before her death.

Yes, it was completely pointless.

Exactly. Why make such a big deal of Rory when he was only around for a few weeks and turned out to be nothing but a villain? I also don't get why the writers felt the need to kick Felicity around yet again when they knew they were killing her off a couple of weeks later.

I just saw it as Felicity’s last story I was surprised that the River boys actually murdered really I thought they had a sort of code They are class A knobs but not murderers I don’t think they really work anymore without Brax Heath or Casey No matter how many times they bring them back

I actually prefer Colby and Dean as characters than Brax and Heath.

Even though we never saw Colby as a River Boy but for most of Colby's time on the show it was hard to imagine he was once a River Boy until he started losing control  when investigation over killing Nixon  started and giving he didn’t have criminal record when first started on show he could not off done anything to overlying criminality.

It’s shame they did not do storyline with Colby  instead when he was on show as would be more interesting if Colby had storyline instead of Cash and Colby temporarily being transferred to Mangrove River Police station and have him investigating River Boys since he was once river boy.

I don't know if I'd call it pointless or unfinished. Certainly it was no more pointless than any other storyline where a character comes in and causes trouble and then leaves with no long-term effects. I didn't hear any of these wild theories which utterly bemuse me. (Long-serving recurring character Constable Devlin as the true villain of the piece? Rory as an undercover cop? I feel like it's 2011 again when people were trying to convince themselves Brax wasn't really a criminal.) I do agree though that it was a bit odd that Rory arrived in a blaze of publicity and initially seemed like a broadly sympathetic character, only for him to turn out to be a disposable villain and the most obviously antagonistic River Boy we'd had in a long time after Heath and Dean basically acted like they were boy scouts. (That said, I've always felt Rory had more loyalty to his "brothers" than Brax, who'd probably have thrown Dingo under the bus to save his own skin.)

I'm actually glad we didn't have some sordid revenge plot to kill off Felicity as was being predicted. I wish they hadn't killed her at all but at least they did in a fairly respectful manner. People were trying to find a way to make out she brought it on herself as it was, it would have been even worse if it actually had been down to her making bad choices.

I feel that it was another attempt for them to just bring back the River Boys full stop. I am still fully expecting for them to bring back Rory as a full-time character one day, and have all the other characters very unsubtly telling us that he's a "good guy" and trying to conveniently make us forget all his wrongdoings, where also, they'll have a female character who like Felicity, finds him totally irresistable and think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
