It was back when Mac first left Levi  said he and Eden would look after Salt, plus of course they were expecting Xander back, then it went all quiet, then Eden got kidnapped and had to take time off after she'd been injected with Ketamine.  When did Eden get to be in charge?  Both Levi and Eden assumed wrongly about Abby, but Eden hadn't been in contact with her for many years, though no real excuse for her jumping to the conclusion she did, I'm guessing Levi didn't do a  RSA when he was a med student as he got the task of ringing up absent staff and asking if they could do a shift or have I missed him serving behind the bar? Did 😃 when Eden questioned Abby serving that couple with drinks which turned out to be mocktails.   They did work together very well.  I'm supposing Mac gave Eden carte blanche as to how she ran Salt in her absence. Abby did question Levi about not him telling Mac about his upcoming divorce but as he said Mac has enough to think about and it's more of a face to face conversation.  Abby was left quite bereft when Mali stood her up - more of that later - and Levi said he was going to the hospital to get some work done.   Did I hear Abby say about joining Mali in his van?🤔 I thought he'd moved back into the Farmhouse.

I can see why Kirby was miffed when she got  asked to take over Abby's shift at the last moment, just because as she put it, "She's your girlfriend",  but it was to help family.  OK she got inspired to write down some lyrics but she forgot about  making that call Mali asked her to.  I'm glad they made it up later.

Xander is certainly chucking his weight about even if from a  distance.  Giving Rose and Dana his orders about packing this and that, making sure his board had it's cover on it.  If he's that bothered he can come back and do it all himself.   Who's paying for shipping his gear to Melbourne? Did Dana nick the robot?

You saw by Mail's  face when he learnt Xander wasn't coming back he would be  concerned about Rose,  Bree and Dana haven't known her that long. He  went straight over, cancelling his dinner date with Abby, saying he had to see  a friend, as he said to Rose he wasn't fooled by her "I'm OK" routine, he knows her too well to believe that.  Yesterday's trailer we saw on Tuesday  missed out the hug that Abby saw when she pitched up at the Diner's flat.  We know it was  just a friendly hug but Abby wouldn't.  I'm thinking he didn't say who he was meeting as it's private thing for Rose.   I hope he does fess up though, he kept enough secrets from Rose.

:offtopic:kind of, was there a reason why Luke Van Os suddenly went off as he did, was he as Xander, meant  to reappear  in the bay then go back to Melbourne or was he meant to just 'vanish'?

Think Luke chucked in the towel during a break and it forced a rewrite? This is just me speculating.

My feeling is that they wouldn't have made a point of giving Xander last scenes with Mackenzie, Rose and Dana if they thought he was coming back.

Well, Eliza's not one for making friends easy, is she? Roo seemed to jump very quickly from telling Eliza she's going to school, to deciding to home school her. I did wonder about them bringing in a school age character when we don't see the school anymore, then it occurred to me that we don't actually need to see them at school: Plenty of UK soaps have school age characters who we never or hardly ever see in school, they just head off to school in their uniforms and then come back. But perhaps that way of thinking hasn't made it across to their Oz counterparts, given they felt the need to come up with an excuse for not showing Eliza in school. Marilyn's obviously struggling with someone who's not immediately run over by her supposed charm but you'd think Alf would have been around the block enough times not to get immediately jittery. Is he seriously expecting Roo to send Eliza back? Incidentally, how long is she meant to be there for, if it's an emergency placement?

Seems to be the week for thinking you're being cheated on, with Abigail jumping to conclusions about Mali and Rose.At least it got smoothed over quickly again. (Incidentally, I'm fairly sure Bree's known Rose longer than Mali has. She's certainly been around longer.)

I hope Justin isn't too high-handed with Theo over the car part.

Okay, so Justin was his usual over the top with the car part, but Theo could also have said that Justin was right and he'd be more careful next time sourcing parts.

Is it just me or is it strange that there doesn't seem to be a social worker on Eliza's case or if there is they haven't really done much work with her?  She obviously has problems and I would expect any social worker/professional to have seen that she really needs specialist help; not just to be put into another foster home even if it is an emergency case.

Alf's episode count this week:Two.

Having been critical of Alf yesterday, I was pleased with him today. He made an effort with Eliza, even going so far as stepping in when Roo wanted to give up and drag her off home and pointing out they need to get her out of the house.I wasn't keen on Roo apologising to Levi for Eliza yesterday, but she handled things better with Harper today, even if Eliza wasn't exactly co-operative.Eliza stealing the knife isn't a good thing but it's most likely it's down to a curious fascination rather than a sign she actually intends to use it.

Marilyn gets stuck in a scene just to be sneering and dismissive towards John. I notice she didn't feel the need to butt in when Tane and Levi said much the same thing.

Justin was ultimately proved right but has to learn to back off and let Theo make his own mistakes.Theo might be less inclined to carry on looking for cheap parts if he didn't feel he had something to prove, although he should perhaps see it as a sign to be more cautious.

Well OK Roo has jumped from sorting out  Eliza a place at Summer Bay High to home schooling her, is Roo up to date on her  teaching credentials to do  that, has she ever home schooled before, wouldn't she have to get it OK'd by the appropriate  authorities, know where Eliza is schooling wise so she's not going over things Eliza has already learnt?   We did learn she is very bright but had trouble fitting in with the other kids.  Mind you they  didn't even start as Alf whisked her off to  the Bait Shop.

It is meant to be an emergency placement so by definition should only be  a short stay until TPTB find her somewhere more permanent/suitable which will be more disruption for Eliza.

Back in the day we did see a lot of Summer Bay High which people on H&A FB page keep banging on about but there are no kids of school age  around anymore.  It is  rare we see inside Corrie schools and when we do it's just Weatherfield High.

MF - Eliza does have  a SW, but we've only seen her briefly, but Roo should contact her to get some more history on her as she really has problems with social interaction.  Eliza seems to cope  better with one-to-one connections, more than one person talking to her she seems lost.  She did  appear to have a fascination with life and death, asking Alf how it was for him in the war and how it was seeing dead people.

Then the complete reverse seeing Harper with her bump and  putting  her hands on bump without asking which is a no-no,  Roo more or less telling her to say sorry didn't go down well, but  Harper being a SW could see it differently to Roo  and maybe have come across people who have the same problem Eliza has.   I don't want to label Eliza but could she be on the autistic spectrum, they can focus on particular subjects/things, hence the stolen lighter and now Alf's knife, she seemed very fascinated on that fish was it? in the bucket.  I wonder how the fishing trip will go if it happens.

I enjoyed, if that is the right word,  Alf telling Roo to back off, he was doing fine with Eliza but Roo being Roo she has to be involved.  Eliza did have problems understanding John explaining the directions for fitting the new batteries in the walkie-talkies and checking them off.

Back to Harper - Tane may or not love her but he's rightly concerned enough that she is planning to drive to and from the city -aka  Sydney - everyday so she can do her handover to the guy who's going to be her maternity cover.  Levi is also worried about it, be knackering enough for someone who is fit, they may be lucky and have clear roads both ways, but anything can occur, an accident, road works holding you up and you're sitting  there in the heat, but she is a heavily pregnant women who only recently had  serious surgery and only just been released from house arrest.  Dana, if she'd been there would be with Tane and Levi and definitely put both feet down.  Was it Tane who had the suggestion - which I was screaming at her - I KNOW she can't hear me - she stay in the city.  If Harper's bosses can't sort something she did say she could stay with a friend and Levi said he  could arrange for her to get he next check up done at a city hospital.

Yeh the part was addressed to Theo but equally it was addressed to Justin's garage.  Methinks the reason Theo is digging  his heels is down to male pride, deep down he knows Justin is right but doesn't want to admit it.  Justin may have tons of experience and yes sometimes things brought online can be cheaper but only if they are fit for the purpose. Theo and I'm not saying all young folk are like it  but they want to get things done NOW as they have no patience. This time it hasn't worked, so will cost them both time and money.

It felt like a case of one step forward two steps back with Eliza, as, having been vaguely social last episode, she reverts to not really engaging with anything. She's obviously got a certain amount of morbid fascination, but I do wonder if there's some deeper psychological reasons why she doesn't seem to be able to find any joy in anything.Roo continued plugging away, although Eliza wearing pyjamas to breakfast was an odd thing to latch onto! I'm glad Alf spoke up for her anyway, and I'm not really sure what Marilyn was hoping to achieve with their chat.

One step forward and two steps back between Cash and Remi as well. So, it seems the real issue isn't that Remi was drunk when he extended that olive branch, it's that Remi only did it for Eden's sake and still doesn't trust Cash.Which is...fair enough frankly? I feel like Cash should extend the same courtesy and put up with Remi for Eden's sake, rather than acting as though focusing on their relationship in a bubble is enough. So Levi and Sonny hadn't met before, even though they were apparently both around when Remi and Eden first knew each other? Hmm, yeah, that's fair enough, you wouldn't necessarily meet the brother of a friend of a friend.Sonny comments on Eden and Levi talking again, so presumably when they last knew each other it was mid-rift.

I think Roo should talk to Eliza's SW who may be able to shed more light on why Eliza is like she is, were there problems before she had to leave her real home.   Another Home Schooling lesson went awry and her planned fishing trip with Alf didn't happen.  Eliza did  seem drawn to Levi ad him being  a surgeon and did seem fixated on  how you become one, and what qualifications you needed.  Not the usual question people normally ask about cutting into bodies and him saying you practiced on cadavers.  Then she was looking at the instruments they use - which was pretty odd. it is good Alf is still standing up her her and Maz being Maz who normally likes to see the good in people is concerned why Eliza is so not with it and her 🕷️y senses were twitching.

Remi and Cash are as bad as each other, Levi did hope to intervene by sneakily getting  them together to talk which went down like a lead balloon.  Cash, to me, is being as obsessive  with Remi and his non-apology as he was for his reason for breaking up with Eden.  They either both need their heads banging together or people should just back off  and let them get over it in their own time.  Just  doing  it for  Eden's sake won't solve the problem long term. In Remi's eyes the reason why Cash dumped Eden was to him   explicable and something he couldn't get his head around.  If they had broken up because Cash had cheated he could have understood. Sonny being an outsider so to speak is able to see it from  a different perspective.

Back when Eden and Sonny met it would have been when Levi and Eden were estranged, Remi may have filled him in without going into it too much.  It took long enough for us to find out about her home life.  See Remi is still letting Sonny splash his cash or rather his card about ordering all that booze for the party. Cash was invited but turned it down but as we saw he did pitch up.

I admit it's been a bit vague at times but it sounds like Remi and Sonny grew up in the same neighbourhood and so Remi would likely have already known him when he first met Eden.

Eliza certainly seems to have her obsessions, which came before eating and sleeping here, and there are times when it feels like she's saying what she thinks she's supposed to, but there does feel like there's something genuine about her hugs to Roo.Nice to hear that Tane's youth programme, not seen since he first met Perri, is still going on off screen, even if it didn't exactly enthuse Eliza.

Cash probably should have listened to Remi and just decided to put up with the tension and go to the party, but it took another shove from Tane to get him there. Not that Remi seemed to exactly be living up to it himself, although I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume the session work was genuine.I do appreciate him telling Cash he hopes that he and Eden last: Remi doesn't actually want her to get her heart broken again, he just can't see any other outcome.I did smile at Bree apparently thinking "He didn't do that for me!" when Sonny said Remi sold his bike.A notable lack of Kirby at the party, even though she was there setting up for it last episode!

As for Cash refusing to give a speech, I mostly think that if he's supportive of Tane and Harper getting married and willing to stand alongside him when they do, he should be able to come up with a speech that's both honest and appropriate.
