Jess Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 'Goodbye My Lover' - James Blunt Did I disappoint you or let you down? Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown? 'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun, Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won. So I took what's mine by eternal right. Took your soul out into the night. It may be over but it won't stop there, I am here for you if you'd only care. You touched my heart you touched my soul. You changed my life and all my goals. And love is blind and that I knew when, My heart was blinded by you. I've kissed your lips and held your head. Shared your dreams and shared your bed. I know you well, I know your smell. I've been addicted to you. Goodbye my lover. Goodbye my friend. You have been the one. You have been the one for me. I am a dreamer but when I wake, You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take. And as you move on, remember me, Remember us and all we used to be I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile. I've watched you sleeping for a while. I'd be the father of your child. I'd spend a lifetime with you. I know your fears and you know mine. We've had our doubts but now we're fine, And I love you, I swear that's true. I cannot live without you. Goodbye my lover. Goodbye my friend. You have been the one. You have been the one for me. And I still hold your hand in mine. In mine when I'm asleep. And I will bare my soul in time, When I'm kneeling at your feet. Goodbye my lover. Goodbye my friend. You have been the one. You have been the one for me. I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow. I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow. I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow. I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

I'm so glad that I've finally found someone who agress with me! My family and friends think I'm mad because it's constantly coming out of my laptop (now is no exception!) and my phone and no one can understand why I like it so much! In fact 'Back to Bedlam' is one of the few albums that I have where I could actually be quite happy and sit and listen to all the songs on the album. Most of the time when I buy an album it's for the one or two songs that have normally been in the charts and/or are very catchy! XxX
Liz Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Back To Bedlam is the first album from which I adore every single song. James Blunt's music touches me in an inexplicable way; it is truly beautiful.
Emma_B Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Simon and Garfunkel The Boxer I am just a poor boy Though my story's seldom told I have squandered my resistance For a pocketful of mumbles Such are promises All lies and jests Still a man hears what he wants to hear And disregards the rest When I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy In the company of strangers In the quiet of the railway station Running scared Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters Where the ragged people go Looking for the places only they would know Lie la lie... Asking only workman's wages I come looking for a job But I get no offers Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome I took some comfort there Lie la lie... Then I'm laying out my winter clothes And wishing I was gone Going home Where the New York City winters aren't bleeding me, Leading me, going home. In the clearing stands a boxer And a fighter by his trade And he carries the reminders Of every glove that laid him down Or cut him till he cried out In his anger and his shame "I am leaving, I am leaving" But the fighter still remains Lie la lie... Simon and Garfunkel I am a Rock A winter's day In a deep and dark December I am alone Gazing from my window To the streets below On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow I am a rock I am an island I've built walls A fortress deep and mighty That none may penetrate I have no need of friendship Friendship causes pain It's laughter and it's loving I disdain I am a rock I am an island Don't talk of love Well I've heard the word before It's sleeping in my memory I won't disturb the slumber Of feelings that have died If I never loved I never would have cried I am a rock I am an island I have my books And my poetry to protect me I am shielded in my armor Hiding in my room Safe within my womb I touch no one and no one touches me I am a rock I am an island And a rock feels no pain And an island never cries Simon and Garfunkel Kathy's Song I hear the drizzle of the rain Like a memory it falls Soft and warm continuing Tapping on my roof and walls And from the shelter of my mind Through the window of my eyes I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets To England where my heart lies My mind's distracted and diffused My thoughts are many miles away They lie with you when you're alseep And kiss you when you start your day And a song I was writing is left undone I don't know why I spend my time Writing songs I can't beleive With words that tear and strain to rhyme And so you see I have come to doubt All that I once held as true I stand alone without beliefs The only truth I know is you And as I watch the drops of rain Weave their weary paths and die I know that I am like the rain There but for the grace of you go I
Nathan Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I can't stand James Blunt... IMO. His voice annoys me. His lyrics are good though.
Dean Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I can't stand James Blunt... IMO. His voice annoys me. His lyrics are good though. I agree. IMO, it's really whiny. Like Amanda in her acting mode.
