claire_louise Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I read that Preeti was going to move into the Fowlers' house with her family. (Which is stupid because a whole family doesn't tend to move to the place their daughter/sister/cousin moved in reality.) But as least if it's true it'll give her a storyline. Unless they all already live nearby and just move house?
Ashirr-Leigh Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 I don't mind Preeti so much, would take her over Li anyday. I wasn't watching the show when the two of them were brought in though, who are supposed to be exactly? Just randomers or did they know people from the square already?
Jess Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 This show has started go down a bit i uset to love watching it on UKTV but i dont know it just doesnt seem as enjoyable anymore. Are the UKTV episodes shown at the same pace as they are in the UK?
Shaun. Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I read that Preeti was going to move into the Fowlers' house with her family. (Which is stupid because a whole family doesn't tend to move to the place their daughter/sister/cousin moved in reality.) But as least if it's true it'll give her a storyline. Unless they all already live nearby and just move house? Possibly, I didn't think of that. I don't mind Preeti so much, would take her over Li anyday. I wasn't watching the show when the two of them were brought in though, who are supposed to be exactly? Just randomers or did they know people from the square already? Tanya was losing customers to a rival salon, so Max 'the pig' Branning used his 'powers of persuasion' on their top beautician Preeti and got her to come and work for Tanya. I am pretty sure Li came into it by selling knock off gear to Mickey. I hate Li. She was horrible in Hollyoaks in the City and is no more nicer in Eastenders, plus the fact she thought she was absolutely gorgeous in Hollyoaks.
Danifan Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I love Li, she's fab with tons of potential. I loved Elaine Tan in Hollyoaks in The City as well, Gucci was class: such a drama queen and exhibitionist. I really think the show needs more lively characters like Li who will cause trouble. And Li and Mickey make a great couple. I'm bored of every storyline focusing on money troubles or Sean and Stacey and their dull problems and everything going back to normal within a week and the drama not being all that effective.
Dan F Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 From The Sun: EastEnders? Leave it out February 27, 2007 EASTENDERS has suffered a new blow — being left off the shortlist for a prestigious best soap gong. Rival ITV1 shows Coronation Street, Emmerdale and The Bill will get a clear run as nominees at next month’s Royal Television Society Programme Awards. The snub comes after critics slammed EastEnders for boring plots and acting. Recent depressing storylines in the BBC1 soap include Honey and Billy Mitchell discovering baby Petal has Down’s Syndrome. Last night, an EastEnders source insisted: “We’re fine — we won the National TV Award.” Oscar winner Dame Helen Mirren is up for best actress for Prime Suspect. And Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are jointly nominated for best presenter.
Jess Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Lol, I really shouldn't giggle, what with our beloved soapie going down the drain as we speak, but I must quote that 'Enders source - "We're fine - we won the National TV Award"...what planet are they on?! You're not "fine"...does that make England okay 'cos we won the World Cup in '66?
Dan F Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Indeed, the fact is, the RTS awards are the most respected, prestigious awards in the UK industry, judged by a jury of top industry professionals - so it's hardly something to take lightly!
Frankie Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 I thought he Billy, Honey and Petal storyline was one of the best ones for ages...and very well acted....I agree the rest can be rather dull and predictable.
Oxidizer Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 I love Li, she's fab with tons of potential.
