claire_louise Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Maxwell Caulfield (Mark Wylde) is leaving in the new year!! Typical - whenever a soap character becomes my favourite, they leave I'm actually quite pleased about this. I loved the actor when he was in Casualty but I find the character of Mark wooden and unrealistic. But the main plus point is that it gives them the opportunity to do a really fantastic exit storyline for him. I wouldn't be surprised if the bigamy/fraud was discovered and he ending up killing himself. Or maybe he'll do another vanishing act and start a new life somewhere else! The rest of the family (including Faye and Ryan) are apparently all staying, so that rules out him doing a runner with Faye. Quote
Zetti Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 ^^ I have never liked him so I am glad to hear that and I agree with claire louise on this one Quote
devon Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 ^Oh well, each to their own, I suppose.... ^^ I think they'll kill him off... just to keep the 'Curse of Home Farm' theme gong, if anything... Quote
Slade Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 The thing about Nathan is that he’s not in the remotest way likeable, not even as a bad guy. There have been characters in the past where although they’ve been evil in a funny sort of way, I’ve still enjoyed them - Kim Tate and Cain are the two that spring to mind and I felt at times both of them had redeeming qualities. I do however credit the actor because he plays the part really well. I was pleased Leyla opened up to Doug. I’m glad he didn’t judge her and saw Nathan was the one in the wrong and acted towards him with distain the day afterwards. I know Leyla did the wrong thing but I’ve actually felt quite sorry for her this week. TBH I thought it was a bit rude of the Bartons to stick pictures of Natasha and Mark on the faces of the Guy Fawkess they were burning on Bonfire night (although I didn’t have a problem with them using Nathan’s photo as I dislike him so much). I’m glad Natasha and Mark took it in jest though. I’m not sure if Laurel being on fire was accidental or deliberate but the only reason Sally helped her was because Marlon came to her aid and tried to alert everybody. Otherwise I’m sure should would have let her burn. It reminded me a bit in H & A when Haley was going to fall off a cliff, and Amy saved her because of Nick. Sally probably spiked Laurel’s drink which was why she got plastered at her anniversary. Aaron is still being unpleasant to his mother. He really needs to watch himself especially in front of Carl. Let’s not forget he cut Carl’s brakes a few weeks ago in the hope to cause him a serious injury. Still want something to happen between him and Holly as I think it would be interesting to see the fallout. I’m finding this whole storyline with Charity being in league with Carl quite interesting (but I don’t want them to drag it out for too long). Loved Carl’s “green as a Martian” reference to Cain’s jealousy when Charity was flirting with Jai. I’m guessing firstly that Kane has some idea that Charity suspects he’s still got the money he stole from the King’s stashed away and wants to get her hands on it. Also wonder if there will come a point where Charity will be presented with an opportunity to get her hands on the cash but at the same time will have become quite accustomed to the whole family thing and so will be faced with a difficult choice. First it was sexual tension, then Moira started flirting with him but it looks as though Marlon is falling for Moira now. Would Moira let anything happen? If something does happen, who’s going to make the first move I wonder? Quote
Lesley Bee Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Maxwell Caulfield (Mark Wylde) is leaving in the new year!! Typical - whenever a soap character becomes my favourite, they leave well thats good news I think Maxwell is such a wooden actor, plus his character is very boring Quote

-Kevin- Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 So glad Leyla came clean to David , at least Nathan can't hold it over her anymore. Although I do wish he hadn't dumped Leyla Quote
Slade Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Leyla finally told David, well sort of. I’m not sure if they will get back together but I hope he can at least forgive her for sleeping with Nathan. Leyla could been in trouble because when she refuses to bow to Nathan’s demands and tells him she told David she will have outlived her usefulness so will almost certainly lose her job and have no money to pay rent. It’s sad this all started because of a pair of shoes. I blame Maisie. If she hadn’t of flashed her ridiculously expensive high-heels and given them to Moira she would have never have put the idea into Leyla’s head in the first place. Glad Laurel put her foot down with Sally. She’ll figure out what Sally’s up to soon enough. Can’t say the same for Ashley though. Quote
Mrs Bishop Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Lets hope David sees sence and forgives Leyla as there a lovley couple together, That Sally is really getting up my nose cant Asley see what she is doing or is he so blind to her ways. Quote
Slade Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 It was very gratifying seeing David smack Nathan. As he said what a shame he didn’t hit Nathan harder. Leyla was lucky. I was certain Natasha was going to fire her. Lauren’s finally cottoned on the fact that Sally is interfering in her marriage with Ashley and is up to no good. The look on Sally’s face when Laurel decided to exclude her from Ashley’s birthday suggests she’s not going to take it lying down and with Laurel determined for Sally not to try and cause anymore trouble something’s got to give. I agree with what Andy said about Aaron. He should not be driving, especially given his current temperament. Quote
