Slade Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I really wish Nicola would just shut up about Scarlett's money! Who was she to bring up the point about Scarlett paying rent anyway? It’s not even her house. Speaking of money I thought at first OMG Charity you idiot when she gave the bag to Edna but I really enjoyed the stuff with her and Debbie. They were very lucky though. I’m pretty sure Debbie wants a relationship with her but is reluctant out of loyalty to her dad and afraid of getting burnt again. Aaron seems to have calmed down a bit but I’m not sure asking Holly out was such a smart move. Someone’s going to get hurt. It’s still quite amusing seeing Priya not enjoying her supervisory role. Liked that Marlon stuck up for Charity at the pub and the wink Chas gave in acknowledgment. Quote
-Kevin- Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Ah I loved Charity rejoining the work force and I am not liking this storyline with the youngest Barton being bullied! I felt so so sorry for Hannah (I think thats her name) after she came home from school covered in ink. its really sad because it does happen in real life and to be honest made me feel uncomfortable watching the scene where she got a text message about what colour ink se would like the next day at school. I wonder where Emmerdale are going with this storyline but I have great faith that it will be dealt with properly. Quote
Slade Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Some good drama this week. I actually really enjoyed the stuff with Aaron including the whole teasing with Ryan and Paddy especially regarding the build up to the date with Holly. And even during the date itself for some reason I just couldn’t stop smiling. Holly is really starting to fall for Aaron. Shame because they would make a great couple but it’s all going to end in tears. I really enjoyed Debbie automatically getting defensive of Charity when Carl was slating her. I especially liked the way she gave Chas a serve and told Carl if he spoke to Charity like that again she’d have him. I have to say though that was a pretty dumb move telling Carl Charity gave the money away. I knew there was no way he’s going to give up after hearing that and now he’s just become more and more fixated. TBH I can’t really blame him but this could spell the end of his relationship with Chas. Interesting how after she found out about Carl going round to Debbie’s he said something about having to do it for his dad. It annoyed me the way Chas wanted Carl do drop his pursuit of the money. I mean he’s got every right to it. Cain stole it several years ago from his father. Although I didn’t like the way he forced his way into the garage, threatened Debbie, practically trashed her house, again it bothered me like they were acting as if Carl had no right to even want the money back. Still glad that Charity was the one to rescue her daughter as that could possibly allow them to rebuild their relationship. When Cain finds out what happened, I suspect he’s not going to be a happy bunny. I’m even more certain that Maisie wants Ryan now. Else why would she keep making a point about how she wouldn’t want to go for him? Also notice how she was so eager to apologise after he went to apologise to her for his remark when she came home crying from Jai’s (which brought a smile to my face incidentally). Look’s like Christmas dinner could be interesting with Paddy and Aaron invited to the Bartons. I felt really sorry for Lizzie when she was telling Lisa about how she was mugged shortly after her mother’s funeral before and after Aaron pushed her over it brought it all back again. It was very bold of her to decide to go to the Woolpack. Quote
Mrs Bishop Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I see Sally Spode is moving in for the kill he he or thats what she thinks, Maisie I cant stand her fancy Nathan taking her shopping for Katie i bet what hes bought her she wont like thats why Maisie chose what ever it was. Quote
Slade Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I really liked Nikhil today. He came across as really down to earth. Quite funny when one of his employees kissed him and he didn’t know what to do. I had a feeling when Lisa kept mentioning the pink laptop Belle wanted for Christmas she would go nude. I have to say it was brilliant the way Chastity went round with the Mistletoe kissing all the younger blokes in the Woolpack then when it came to Nathan she said “Not you”. Nice one Chas. Could Ryan be anymore obvious if he tried? Every time I see him with Maisie I almost forget that they are half-brother and sister. This is a soap so he’s bound to succumb to temptation sometime. The only thing is will it be before or after Christmas/New year? Quote
Red Ranger 1 Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Really wasn't happy about Charity telling Cain about Carl, it felt like she was stirring up trouble just to make herself look good.Debbie burnt the money...That made me smile.Cain and Charity getting married feels like a recipe for disaster. They'd kill each other within a week. Ryan and Maisie are worryingly cute together.Keep having to remind myself that it'd be illegal... Quote
Slade Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I thought the Christmas day episode was a huge disappointment. I found the stuff at Carl’s quite boring. The scenes with Ashley and Sally were tiresome and I’m now fed up with the whole thing. There was potential for stuff at the Dingles but all we had was a continuation of the Charity Cain bickering. I can’t believe Debbie burnt the money. I know she’s the exact opposite of Maisie but how could she be so stupid. She could have just given it to Carl. A Charity and Cain wedding would be a terrible idea. Christmas at the Bartons was a bit of anticlimax. Considering we had Aaron and three people he’s tried it on with at some point (Adam, Holly & Victoria) I was expecting something to happen. Funnily enough as much as I dislike Maisie there is just something I like about her and Ryan. Not good. It kind of reminds me of Rhys and Beth from Hollyoaks where I kept dismissing the fact they were half-brother and sister and actually liked them together because I felt they had chemistry. I know I shouldn’t have said that… Quote
Lesley Bee Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I really don't understand Maisie, she has been following Ryan around like a lovesick puppy wanting something to happen, then when he eventually kisses her, she backs away like he's just slapped her Quote
Red Ranger 1 Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Although it might have been the best thing to do from a moral standpoint, in dramatic terms I'm glad Carl didn't get the money back.Taking the Kings' money away is the most interesting thing they've done to them and I wouldn't want anyone to hit the reset button on it. The kiss between Ryan and Maisie was surprisingly tame, I thought, but probably appropriate in the circumstances.I think they're both just confuised, although not as confused as they'll be when they inevitably learn the truth...
