Slade Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I have to agree with Red Ranger. I find it very hard to have any sympathy for Aaron. If it had been another character it might have been different. But IMO the fact of the matter is for the most part he is such a horrible, awful person. I did quite like the scene with him and Adam in the hospital yesterday but raised an eyebrow when Adam said Aaron was his best friend. Really? I've tried to defend Aaron before but considering the way he's acted you have to ask yourself would you want to be friends with someone like him, let alone best friends? When Aaron was telling Adam he wanted things to go back to the way they were before part of me was thinking that he wanted a relationship with Adam but the other part was thinking that he simply hated his sexuality. I'm kind of glad Chas gave him a serve because I'm so fed up with the way he treats her. Every time she offers the Olive branch but each time is rejected which leaves me wondering what more can she do. Quote
~Zoe~ Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 I'm really looking forward to tonights episode - Nathan is back Will be good to see the actor who plays him, Lyndon Ogbourne back on screen again Quote
Slade Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 I can't believe they brought that slim-ball back. I was hoping we would never have to see him again although I had a feeling he would return. He's going to make Natasha's life hell. Hopefully Declan will knock him down a peg. Nikhil makes me laugh sometimes, especially his naivety around women. Firstly Natasha then Debbie now Maisie. This should be interesting. I'm glad Eric was ok with Marlon when he paid back the money Eli stole. I thought it was a shame Eli had to go like that because as of late I thought he was making an effort to be a model citizen but after Sam reported Olena he reverted back to the Eli of old. Val's attitude continues to annoy me. It was funny seeing the flirting with Chas and Paddy especially watching Aaron pick up on it. The way Aaron's acting with Adam it's almost like he's hoping he's in with a chance. Adam seems to be wanting to spend a lot of time with him though. Quote
DinerLandlord Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) I love Nathan! He's a male bitch. Such a rare character. He'll never be a proper villain because he's too weedy and crap for that, but I love how spiteful and nasty he is. I'm not saying I love those kind of traits in people, but it is oddly fascinating to see people on TV who get away with acting like that. Probably explains why I love Janine in Eastenders. Red Ranger 1 Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Nicola's right, Viv is a spiteful little woman with no sense of responsibility and an exaggerated opinion of herself and her family.Of course, actually saying that to her face when you've just admitted to giving her daughter an unusual form of corporal punishment isn't really the best course of action.Didn't exactly help her case there. Much as I don't like Nathan, I had to raise an eyebrow at Natasha taking the moral high ground with him.Okay, he blackmailed her. That's because she murdered his father.Surprised she was so accepting of his sudden, uncharacteristic contrition.Wasn't long before he was back to treating Katie like dirt, glad she and Declan stood up to him. Pearl annoyed me with her attitude towards Rhona and not only was I annoyed at Maisie asking Marlon to cover for her laziness but by his supposed friends backing her up, even if the scene was presumably supposed to be comic. And Adam flirted with Eve while Scarlett was right next to him? Does the guy have a death wish? Quote
~Zoe~ Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 Ok so... last nights double episodes 1st ep - Thought the scenes were actually very sweet. He might not have been openly affectionate with him mum but he still went to see her, even being civil with Carl. Then letting Paddy hug him actually made me squeee and just want to shower the people at Emmerdale with praise - they really know how to make something simple very poignant - Paddy is his dad. Then he gets to court and some how Danny manages to make the psycho, angry chavvy Aaron look so scared and vunerable but without even a hint of over acting. It was refreshing for a young soap actor not to scream and shout. Then having him turn around (well actually Chas whisper shouting him made me laugh) and the smile god darn broke my heart. They have put so much work into this character who feels so alone to have him slowly realising he has all these people who love him. Ep 2 - Just Wow! The speech was so brilliantly written but man Danny knocked it out of the park. (this proves the joke that is the BSA's). I liked the little glimpses of Paddy and Chas as well... but honestly I was just willing him to be strong enough to say it and it was honestly beautiful acting. Then we have them all coming home - and I have honestly never loved Cain so much as just then. He was so right just saying they had to look after their own and keeping Zach in line (Zach who was hilarious actually but his intentions were good and he wont have a problem with it... I actually thought Carl was even funnier just with his facial expressions). Then we get to see SupermanAdam doing his job again - I very much liked his 'too soon' comment! This episode, for me, really worked as a wonderful almost new beginning for Aaron and his story. It strikes me that this ep might be the turning point for the character and the story and I think it did a wonderful job of signifying that! Quote
Slade Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Surprisingly I actually felt quite sorry for Aaron when he told the truth about himself during court. It couldn’t have been easy and I have to admit it took guts. I actually don’t think he deserved to go to jail for the assault on Jackson and you could tell by the look on Jackson’s face even he didn’t want that, although there’s still stuff Aaron’s done in the past which you could argue he could have gone to jail for – The brutal assault on Paddy, cutting Carl’s brakes, statutory rape etc. I was impressed with how supportive his family were and I have to agree with Cain - Normality is what he needs. It’s going to be difficult though especially with his story being on the front page of the local newspaper but he’s going to have to learn to bite his tongue from now on. I loved the part when Zak was trying to get his head around the whole thing and he asked if Aaron hasn’t been with any guys how does he know he’s gay and Cain had to try explaining it to Zak. I’m quite liking the stuff with Eve and John. Interesting in spite of the fact he knows she has a thing for him and is blatantly flirting, he feels as though he can confide in her. Quote
Red Ranger 1 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Are we actually meant to feel sorry for Viv?Okay, Bob cheated on her(kind of, she was in jail refusing to see him at the time). But frankly, the only question is why he put up with her for so long. I had a similar feeling about Moira at the start of the week. Not that she deserved to be cheated on, just that she seemed to have a pretty extreme reaction in making John sleep on Andy's sofa for one kiss that he didn't initiate and regretted instantly. But when she said about how she trusted him completely and felt betrayed, I did kind of understand it and she has now let him back in the house, even if it isn't all forgotten and she almost seemed to be turning the children against him at one point. Liked Lizzie's casual "Is she dead?" when Adele wandered in front of a car. Quote
Slade Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 It’s extremely hard to have any sympathy for Viv because she comes across as such a vindictive person and I surprising found myself agreeing with Nicola that with a wife like Viv you can’t blame Bob for cheating. Nicola and Viv are two people that at times I really dislike and are both having it difficult at the moment so I’m not complaining. I kind of agree about Moira but for different reasons. You could argue that she didn’t deserve to be cheated on but TBH at first I liked her and the scenes with Marlon but now I’m so fed up with her. She’s just a whining, moany, miserable, self-righteous cow so I’m glad things aren’t going well for her at the moment too. I was disappointed Jamie did a U-turn regarding Gen in the end and I’m inclined to blame Viv for tipping the scales however there’s every possibility Jamie would have woken up one day, seen Gen talking to someone else and assumed something was going on. It was hard not to feel sorry for her they way he just drove of and left her there. Quote
Mrs Bishop Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I agree with you Slade If Viv hadnt said what she did Jamie and Jen would now be to gether in there new life i get the impression Viv dosent like people being happy , As for the Bartons what did Moira expect from John leaving him with a beautiful young girl and talk about double standards it seeemed to me it was ok for her to have feelings for Marlon but different for her husband to have the same feelings i think she should take a look at her self, Nathan well whast can you say about him hes one spoilt brat and i,m not suprised Natasha kicked him out for being the way he is and also for trying to take over the buisness while Natasha has a partner and Nathan trying to get rid of him i know where i would tell him to go.
