Didn't really think of Henshall as being responsible for the break-in.Which shows how little attention I've been paying to the storyline.Andy would seem an obvious candidate but probably a bit too obvious so I've no idea who it is.

Chris Chittell's been on top form recently:Eric's scenes with Val and Michael at the start of the week were brilliantly intense and I feel even more sorry for him now.Nice to finally get a definitive answer for what happened all those years ago as well.I don't think I realised just how much Eric's mellowed these past few years, since he's been with Val and since David's been around.I'm not sure if I ever genuinely hated him because he seemed to be more of a comedy villain, more likely to get covered in manure than push someone off a cliff. But, while it might be a stretch to say he's turned nice, I find I actually quite like him now.

Not sure if that's meant to be Scarlett gone?I have a hard time believing she has because it was just such a limp exit, she was barely in that last episode.Hope she hasn't because I rather like her, even if she did take an inordinately long time to realise Adam wasn't interested in getting married and having babies, or whatever it was she wanted.

Ryan's reaction to living with Will and Maisie seemed a bit abrupt and extreme.I get that he and Maisie have a, shall we say, complicated history and things are still a bit awkward between them. But I think they've got enough self-control to not commit incest if they're living under the same roof and I thought he'd be more sympathetic to the fact Will wants as much family as he can get around him. Will's little goodbye to Belle was cute.Nikhil's sweet but extremely deluded if he thinks Maisie wants to marry him, she obviously doesn't see him like that.

Poor Lisa. The whole thing caught me completely by surprise. I felt bad for her when despite what had happened she was simply trying to perform her duties as a wife/mother. When Zak and Cain find out Derek is soooooo dead. I can't see Debbie keeping quiet about this.

I'm glad Will apologised to Belle as I quite like their friendship.

I'm also glad Val decided to give Eric another chance. I'm not usually that interested in Eric but this is the best I've seen him for quite a while. The scene where he was remorseful about Elizabeth just before he gave Michael the money was quite powerful. Why is Val so keen to foster Amy? I did wonder if she felt it was because of her failings as a mother. Something I kept forgetting to mention was that I find it interesting how Amy appears to be from the Newcastle area like Val.

The stuff with Nikhil was embarrassing. To be fair to Nikhil he can't see it because he's in love and love is blind as they say. However I'm with Jai on this one. Nikhil is making a huge mistake. I know they went out before but in terms of total time they haven't been dating very long. Why the sudden need to get married? The minute Maisie hesitated to me it was obvious that she's not really into him or certainly not in love with him I should say. Also from the scene with Ryan she isn't over her half-brother. If Ryan had turned round and said he would go away with her and Will she would have dropped Nikhil without a second thought but she's decided to settle for second best. I hope Nikhil's got the sense to get her to sign a pre-nup but I can't see it happening.

Oh and I found it quite amusing when Laurel was drunk.

Loved the scene where Nikhil was trying to give Maisie the ring and Jai was commenting on everything:Nasty but very funny.I'm going to miss Maisie and Will, I think they saved the best of the Wyldes to last.I liked the farewells between Maisie and Ryan and between Will and Belle, there was a lot of feeling behind them.

Didn't realise until the end of the episode that we were going to see Henshall actually lighting the fire. He did seem a bit creepy in that episode so I wasn't surprised.Andy's coming across as so unhinged I did wonder if he was a double bluff but I didn't think it would be Carl, he's not psychotic like that.It did also seem that the way he was flinging the petrol around the fire probably wouldn't spread: Seriously, would setting fire to a metal dustbin cause much destruction? Not sure who's going to get out of it alive and who isn't:Things aren't looking too good for Viv and Betty and I suspect at least one of them will get it.The girls would seem to be in the firing line, seeing as how it's their house, but I have a hard time imagining any of them dying.Maybe Gennie, who never really seems to do much these days anyway.

It was Henshall. I thought it was but I dont get why though? I hope that becomes clear soon

I think his plan is to make out that Andy did it! Andy's got a history in starting fires, and I reckon Henshall is just trying to make Andy look bad in Katie's eyes!

This was on the emmerdale website

"It was just meant to be a small fire that would allow creepy cop DC Henshall to be Katie's hero...

But two people end up dead."

Ironic that Henshall was originally brought in to solve a murder investigation and it looks as though he's killed two people. I don't know why but I kind of liked the way he just stood there watching Katie's house after he started the fire. Almost admiring his own handiwork. Like I said before I thought he was behind the break-in, meaning that he was behind the phone calls and I knew it was him even before we saw who it was in yesterday's episode getting ready to start the fire.

Damn! I was really hoping Betty wouldn't escape. Why did Carl and Andy have to rescue her? She's like a Yorkshire version of Colleen. Spiteful, malicious, unlikeable, no redeeming qualities etc.

I hope I'm wrong about Henshall killing Viv and Terry. Still have a hard time trying to understand why Terry was so determined to rescue Viv. Is he in denial about being in love with her? Did he feel guilty for rejecting her earlier on.

I wasn't sure what to make of Carl threatening to get Chas back but I liked the way he snubbed her. After lying about being pregnant, stealing thirty grand from him, jilting him at the altar and then rejecting him a second time she had the gall to refer to him as "Babe".

I'm glad Maisie did the right thing and finished with Nikhil. And I don't blame Jai for being happy about it. If that was me I would be over the moon. I'm not too bothered Maisie's going to be honest. Couldn't stand her at first, then I warmed to her and really liked her and Ryan (Yes sick I know) but since Natasha and Nathan have gone I just haven't been that interested in her anymore.

I have to say I really enjoyed the goodbye scene with Will and Belle declaring their love for each other. I've stated on more than one occasion that I really liked their friendship. They just seemed to be from two different ends on the spectrum so on paper should have had nothing in common but they were really good together and I really liked their interaction. Now that's something I'll miss...

Yes, it did look like Henshall was trying to be the hero, much as he presumably did when he trashed Katie's house and came round to comfort her, but it seems to have got out of hand.Wouldn't have been bothered if Betty got it and not bothered that Viv's almost certainly got it.I'm sorry about Terry though, he was a genuinely decent bloke and I'll miss him, even if he has been a bit underused lately. When he didn't come out with Bob and the twins and then Bob couldn't get back in, I began to suspect those two were going to die and with the place blowing up it was pretty much certain.

I read that the actress who played Viv was extremely disappointed with her final episode after being on the show for such a long time. I tend to agree with her. All I remember her doing was sleeping whilst her house was burning and Terry went in after her so you could argue she deserved a better exit. Even then we didn’t even see her funeral. Terry had been there a while as well.

I’m at the stage where I’m finding it hard to like quite a few of the characters at the moment. I’m really disliking Cain at present. It was one thing threatening Jai but then he went and trashed the site where Jai was supposed to be having work done, got Sam to do it with him and had the cheek to only offer him £20. And yet again another time Cain’s seemingly got away with something without there being any real consequences.

Charity’s just as bad but in a different way. I still have forgotten how she masterminded the whole Chas payback plan but regardless of whether it’s work or not she’s blatantly been flirting with Jai and rubbing it in Cain’s face so how did she expect Cain to react.

Jai’s been playing with fire to be honest but I have liked the way it’s wound Cain up. The interesting thing with Jai is that a lot of people are afraid of Cain but he doesn’t seem fazed by him in the slightest.

I didn’t like the way Charity threatened Faye but again Faye only has herself to blame. This whole thing is really none of Faye’s business and she should just stay out of it and stop trying to stir the pot.

Still finding it hard to like Aaron and to me he still doesn’t seem nice but I do admire the way he’s trying to support Jackson. I think it’s actually a good thing because it pacifies him to a certain degree and if he’s focusing on Jackson he’s not hurting anyone else.

I don’t like the way Chastity’s been accusing Carl of starting the fire and practically getting Henshall to arrest him although again it is understandable. Carl’s not doing himself any favours getting drunk and letting things fester. I agree he’s entitled to have his 30 grand back but I think he should lay low for now.

I'm kind of in two minds about Brenda's recent behaviour towards Andy, from getting him thrown out of the funeral onwards.Part of me accepts that she genuinely believes he's killed Terry and acknowledges that if he was guilty I probably wouldn't have a problem with her.But the other part knows that he's innocent and thinks she's behaving in a very hateful manner and Terry would be ashamed of her.Having Gennie constantly insisting he's guilty probably isn't helping either.

Henshall, on the other hand, is clearly a complete psychopath.I think it's actually moved beyond him trying to frame his love rival for his own crime. The way he's behaving, he seems to have genuinely convinced himself that, even though he lit the fire, it was Andy that drove him to it so he's the guilty one.

Not liking Hazel again, her accusing Chastity of being an interfering mother was a massive pot-kettle-black moment.Scarlett's back!Wasn't sure if she would be, glad she is, hope she does something.
