Its really sunny out but windy! It has actually been really nice the past few days where I live. This afternoon it was hot and handly any wind. I think that it will be like this up until I finish school next month. It will rain then until I have to go back and do exams and it will be sunny and when Im actually finished, it will be raining! :( That is what happened last year with my friends. Hot during exams and horrible weather afterwards.

200,000 homes, businesses lose power

Hurricane warning from weather bureau

Wild winds are wreaking havoc across Melbourne this afternoon, whipping up huge clouds of dust, causing road closures, major power blackouts, train delays and blowing people off their feet.

A woman in her sixties was killed by a falling wall in a laneway next to a post office in Mentone, in Melbourne's south-east.

An ambulance spokesman said paramedics were called to the scene but the woman was dead when they arrived

The ceiling of an operating room ceiling at Caulfield Hospital has collapsed, the Melbourne Fire Brigade said.

Part of the hospital's roof had blown off, but nobody was injured and there was no immediate danger to patients, the hospital's executive director said.

A spokesman for two large providers, United Energy and Allinta, said 140,00 customers were without power due to falling power lines.

Powercor's Damien Batey more than 30,000 Powercor customers had lost supply by 2pm, while up to 20,000 CitiPower customers were also hit, Mr Batey said.

Metropolitan Ambulance Service spokesman Paul Bentley said ambulance crews treated a woman hit by a fallen tree in Carlton, in inner-northern Melbourne, this afternoon.

The 55-year-old woman was taken to St Vincent's Hospital with minor injuries.

A woman was also injured by what was suspected to be building rubble near Crown Casino in the city, Mr Bentley said.

And a 33-year-old woman and her 72-year-old female passenger escaped injury when a tree fell across their car in Wantirna South.

Mr Bentley said ambulance officers had also attended calls where people had been blown over by the strong winds.

Police have urged anyone who does not need to be in Melbourne to avoid the city.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said: "We are asking people who are in the city, who don't need to be here, think about moving out.''

"And for those who are here for some time, they need to think about planning alternate routes.''

Well, I'd like to report our amazing weather conditions in the south of England. At about 8am this morning, April 6th, it began to snow heavily. It settled and is now about 2 inches deep! Its beautiful, there are lots of trees around here and they look so lovely. I felt like singing Christmas carols this morning- its meant to be spring! It was hot and sunny 2 days ago :o
