Jess Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Britain to bask in mini-heatwave Britons are set to bask in a mini-heatwave this weekend with temperatures reaching as high as 26C (79F) in some parts of the country. Forecasters said they expected the heat to rise around 10 degrees above the seasonal average over the next few days. Much of the UK has enjoyed warm conditions over the Easter weekend and the sunshine will continue thanks to high pressure close to Britain. Weatherman Daniel Adamson said: "It will be very warm for the time of year, both Saturday and Sunday. It may not be wall to wall sunshine, but there will be a lot of sunshine and it will be very pleasant. "We will have high temperatures across the South East, London and the surrounding counties to the west. The dry weather is due to high pressure close to and around the UK for the last few weeks.
