Kimmy Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I'm reading 'Deadly Unna?' by Phillip Gwyene for school
Bug Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 My favourite book as a kid was The Silver Chair by CS Lewis which is part of the whole Narnia series. I decided that I wanted to read all seven books, so I'm currently on book 2 of the series - The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
MarMar Posted October 25, 2005 Author Report Posted October 25, 2005 I remember borrowing them from the library... it's a long time ago
OaMay Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 I loved the CS Lewis books as a kid. I much prefer them to the Harry Potter stories, the writing and the imagery is so much better. I have just read My Sister's Keeper, by jodi Picoult. Its about a girl who was conceived so she could save her sister, and its written from her point of view. She sues her parents for the rights to her own body. The ednign is so sad and very unexpected. It's pretty powerful and raises a lot of ethical and moral questions about genetic engineering.
MarMar Posted October 25, 2005 Author Report Posted October 25, 2005 Is it a easy read? Would you say it's good? I've been meaning to read it for a long time
OaMay Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Its beautifully written and very thought provoking. It doesnt get mawkish or sentimental, but deals with issues head on. if you read it tell me what you think.
