Izzy H Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 I've been reading Roots. It's very difficult to understand but as I have seen the film it does make it a little easier.
Jess Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Okay, so I'm not really reading it for the fun of it, but I'm doing 'A'-Level English Lit. at the moment and have got an exam on Thursday on a book called Howards End by E.M. Forster. Does anyone know of any good websites where I can get extra bits and pieces on it that other people might not have? I'm sick of writing timed practice essays but I need to look like I'm doing something constructive with my time! Thankies!
Guest [x]whacko[x]jen[x] Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I'm reading the bone garden by tess someone.. duno her last name but the book is real good
valli Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 Now I’ve just started on Appointment with Death by Agatha Christie. I must say that I’m kind of proud of myself because I managed to guess the murderer in the book Cards on the Table
Formerly Known as FKAJ Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 You'll never guess Appointment with Death. I recently read Birk the Beserker by Robin Klein and illustrated by Allison Lester. A bit anachronistic but there was some evidence of research into Viking myths.
katie343 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I'm currently reading Tomorrow When The War Began by John Marsden xx
nomes Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Just finished Cathy Glass - Hidden. Excellent book. Emotional at parts but well worth the read. Also reccommened her book called Damaged. True stories of the children she fosters
carmelle Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. A good read. I would recommend it.
Eli Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 I'm currently reading a book called "Idas dans" ("Ida's dance"). A lot of people recommended it to me, and I finally decided on reading it, and I definitely don't regret it. It's basically a mother's story (it's a true story) about her daughter's last 14 months to live from she got diagnosed with leukemia just 18 years old. It's really sad, but beautiful at the same time. I would definitely recommend it, but unfortunately I don't think it's translated to English
