I'm reading The Hunger Games. I've only just started, so I can't really say if it's good or not. But according to Stephanie Meyer it is good :P

well i've finished Breaking Dawn, so maybe i should give that one a go, if Stephenie Meyer says it's good, it might keep me tied down for a little bit of the wait until the movie :D

Okay, so- the Twilight books. There's been so much hype about them, from both ends of the spectrum. I've heard people say they're absolute rubbish, and I've heard people say they're the best books I've ever read. I don't know what to think- I don't want to waste my time reading a book that turns out to be rubbish, but I don't want to miss out on reading a good book, if my mind ends up liking that. I guess my question is- what do other people think of them?

Haha I'm exactly the same, can't decide to read it or not because even if it is rubbish I can't stop reading a book half way through

I love them too. Ive just finished Eclipse and am about to start on Breaking Dawn.

At first i wasnt going to read them, but i brought the first one anyway, but had it sitting on my shelf for about 2 months before picking it up. But as soon as i started; i got addicted and couldnt put them down. Im so excited to be starting breaking dawn. But sad, coz as soon as i finish reading it; it will be over for good.

I suggest you read the first few chapters of the first one first. Give it a go. You'll know if you'll want to continue after reading a few chappies.

Hehe I'm in the same boat on the Twilight books. It seems like everyone is talking about them. The thing is, the writer was on Ellen and said that she wrote four books in three years... And they're big books too. It doesn't fill me with confidence about the quality of them if she churned them out that fast. She also described them as "a vampire falls in love with a human" and then said "it came to me in a dream." ... A dream about Buffy and Angel perhaps?

On the surface, it doesn't sound very original or well-edited, and there's nothing I hate more than reading a 500 page story that could have been told in 200 pages, but I'm basing my wariness of this series on a very scarce amount of information so I could be completely wrong. Lots of people seem to love them.

So yeah, opinions would be good :P

The main reason I'm considering reading them is because this is what it was like with Harry Potter before the first movie came out. So much hype, a movie on the way and me not knowing a thing about the damn books :D. Then I read them and I'm now a bit of a Harry Potter freak so I'm wondering if getting into these will be just as good as when I did with HP or if the small not so positive things I've heard are what I should go by lol

I still haven't read the Da Vinci Code OR seen the movie

I have seen Da Kath & Kim Code, and an intriguing trailer for

but I don't think that counts...
