Tane & Felicity’s Wedding
Description
Episode 8000, airing in Australia in March 2023, saw the marriage of Tane Parata to Felicity Newman. It had been a long road to the altar following four proposals between the pair of them, and after getting fed up of waiting for Eden and Cash to organise a planned beach wedding, Flick and Tane decided to scale things back and keep it simple.
The following day, the pair wed in an intimate Māori ceremony amongst some bushland, with only Cash and Eden there as witnesses alongside the celebrant, kaikaranga, and traditional poi dancers.
Although the exact setting was unspecified on screen, in reality the ceremony was filmed at the McKay Reserve in Palm Beach, which sits on the headland at the southern end of the beach (the opposite end from the lighthouse).
Tucked away amongst the winding roads on the headland, the reserve offers breathtaking views south over Pittwater to the suburb of Avalon Beach, though surprisingly these views weren’t seen on-screen.
The reserve is becoming a popular wedding venue amongst locals, with the overhanging gumtrees forming a natural ‘aisle’ for bushland ceremonies.
The same location was previously used for the self-performed ceremony between Robbie Hunter and Tasha Andrews in 2005
