Wentworth Grammar / Pippa’s OAM
Description
Following Bobby Marshall’s death in 1993, her mother Morag Bellingham returned to town and put a scheme in motion to take Bobby’s adopted son, Sam, into her own care. Part of her plan involved enrolling Sam at the prestigious Wentworth Grammar School in the city, and whilst boys are usually enrolled at birth, Morag’s contacts were able to pull a few strings. Morag took Sam to visit the school in Episode 1346, and Ailsa later visited herself in order to prove Morag was scheming to take Sam away right from the start.
In reality, the building is the St Ignatius’ College in the lower North Shore suburb of Riverview, a Roman Catholic boy’s school overlooking the Lane Cove River.
The location was revisited in 1996 (Episode 1958) as the place where Pippa Ross was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her services to foster care, which she received in the rose garden at the front of the main building.
