A Change of Heart
He said he wasn’st the marrying kind, but Scott rethinks and proposes to Dani!

The sound of gunshots has faded and the residents of Summer Bay are struggling to cope with the horrific turn of events that claimed two young lives.

But TV WEEK can reveal that, in the aftermath of the shooting, one Home & Away favourite will make a life-changing decision. Having shocked his girlfriend, Dani (Tammin Sursok), when he told her he no longer felt he was the marrying kind, Scott (Kip Gamblin) will now realise that life is too short to be apart from the girl he loves.

When Home & Away returns to our screens next week, Scott will stun Dani by asking her to marry him!

“What’ss happened in the Bay has put Scott’ss life into perspective,” Kip says. “It’ss made him realise that you have to grab hold of life. We could all be taken away at any moment.

“It makes him see where he wants to go in his life. He thinks, ‘sWhat’ss stopping me from doing this? Why should I hold back? I love this girl!’s”

For Dani, this is the moment she has longed for. She doesn’st hesitate to throw her arms around Scott and accept his spontaneous proposal, which takes place in the living room of the Palace. Later, Scott chooses a stunning diamond engagement ring set in white gold, which he presents to a thrilled Dani.

“Dani is completely stunned when Scott asks her to marry him,” Tammin says, “especially after the recent events and the tragedy. But Scott’ss worked out that she’ss really important to him. He thinks that the time is right to take the next step.”

That said, Tammin says Dani can’st quite believe that Scott has had such a drastic change of heart on the issue.

“She’ss definitely surprised,” she says. “It just comes out of nowhere that he asks her to marry him.”

An extremely popular pairing on the small screen, Dani and Scott have overcome many setbacks during their ups and downs.

“Dani is also a lot youngre than Scott. They’sve both had a lot in theit loves that they’sve had to deal with, but they just had to come together and find out what’ss important to them.

“Scott is quite understanding, but he also puts her in her place sometimes. He’ss quite a strong-willed human being and he’ss always there to support her.”

Bay Watch SNEAK PEEK!

The residents of Summer Bay are back after their Olympic break. TV WEEK takes a peek at what’ss in store on Home & Away.

From next Monday, Home & Away is finally back on our screens. And if you thought a lot had happened in Summer Bay in the first half of 2004, just wait until you see what’ss in store for the residents of the small sea side town before the year’ss end!

Here’ss a sneak peek at what’ss coming up in our favourite – but never tranquil – coastal hideaway for the rest of 2004.

Tragedy
When Home & Away last left our screens, the psychotic Sarah (Luisa Hastings Edge) was holding many of the young townsfolk at gunpoint at Leah’ss (Ada Nicodemu) house. Shots were fired and, by the night’ss end, two lives were claimed in the truly terrifying siege. But who wer they? While you’sll have to wait another week to find out, we can promise you’sll be stunned. And you will certainly need to have the tissues on hand for the emotion-charged funeral scenes. Let’ss just say life in the Bay will never be the same again!

Wedding Bells
Amidst all the grief and despair, there’ss cause for celebration when Scott changes his tune on marriage and proposes to his long-time girlfriend, Dani.

New Love
Which long-time Summer Bay resident, who has a poor track record when it comes to love and romance, will fall head over heels for a handsome newcomer? Will she really know what she’ss getting herself into? And will her heart be broken again?

Health Scare
We can’st say whom, but the life of one young character will be turned upside down when he or she experiences a major health scare. What’ss more, that person will do everything they can to keep their potentially devastating news from their loved one.

Secret Surveillance
Who will put one of our favourite Summer Bay folk under surveillance? Hidden cameras will be set up in that person’ss home and capture every move they make. We’sre talking seriously creepy stuff!

Hunky Newcomers
Sure, the Bay has been the setting for some heart-wrenching storylines since Home & Away first hit our screens in 1988. But the fictional town has also been home to some seriously good-looking male residents. And happily, that doesn’st look set to change! In tha past 12 months, we’sve welcomed the likes of the gorgeous Kim (Chris Hemsworth) and wonderfully goofy Robbie (Jason Smith). And now you can prepare for the arrival of two new hotties in the Bay, played by young actors Tim Campbell and Mark Furze. Both guys will quickly set female pulses racing.

Tasha’ss New Mum?
Josie’ss move to the Bay delights young Tasha – but Irene is far from impressed.

She may have looked after Tasha since the day she arrived in the Bay, but this week Irene is in for a massive shock: Josie has decided to move to Summer Bay and is seeking guardianship of Tasha!

Irene (Lynne McGranger) was stunned to meet Josie (Laurie Foell), the look-alike cousin of Tasha’ss late mother, Angie (also played by Laurie Foell). When she tracked her down, Josie was working as the madam of a brothel. Having since travelled to the Bay, Josie has quickly acquainted herself with Tasha (Isabel Lucas).

“Irene hated Josie on sight,” reveals Laurie. “It may be because she looks so much like Angie or because of the industry she works in, but she just took an instant dislike to her.”

Laurie confirms that Josie immediately formed a bond with Tasha.

“Josie has no kids of her own and family has suddenly become improtant to her,” she explains. “She now wants a home and community life. Both she and Tasha are very happy to find in each other.”

Irene is in disbelief when Josie says she wants to be Tasha’ss guardian and tells Irene to be prepared to fight for it.

“Josie feels strongly that she wants a part in Tasha’ss life,” Laurie says. “They get on like a house on fire and she feels quite maternal towards her. She wants to protect Tasha as much as she can.”

Laurie hints that thinks may become extremely complicated in future weeks. “There are some very interesting times ahead,” she teases.

Too Close For Comfort
Rhys destroyed Beth’ss happiness when he announced he was leaving her to start afresh with his first wife, Shelley, in the city.

Now Beth (Clarissa House) looks set for further heartache when Rhys (Michael Beckley) returns to the Bay and announces that he and Shelley (Paula Forrest) are considering moving back to the small seaside town for good.

Beth pleads with him to stay away, but Rhys firmly believes there is no reason they can’st all live in the same town. Beth is shattered.
