Lincoln Lewis and Tessa James reunited in Spin Out
Lincoln Lewis and Tessa James, who starred as turbulent lovers Nicole Franklin and Geoff Campbell in Home and Away, are to be reunited in romantic comedy Spin Out.

The film is set at a rural Australian town’s Bachelor and Spinster’s Ball. For those not familiar with this rural Australian ritual, a B&S Ball is a nighttime event for young ‘spinsters’ and ‘bachelors’ in rural towns, usually run by ute enthusiasts. Hundreds or thousands of young spinsters and bachelors descend upon the outback for a night of drinking, stunts, music and circle work.
‘Circle work’, the working title for ‘Spin Out’, is where ute drivers perform ‘doughnut’ manoeuvres, typically in smaller and smaller circles, and Spin Out promises “some of the most electrifying ‘circle work’ action ever captured on screen”.
Tessa James played Nicole Franklin in the show from 2008 to 2011, while Lincoln played Geoff Campbell from 2007 until 2010. They support main cast members Xavier Samuel (Fury, Twilight: Eclipse) and Morgan Griffiths (San Andreas, Louder Than Words) in the drama, which is due for release in mid-2016.

There is nothing on earth like an Australian Bachelors and Spinsters Ball, hundreds of Ute’s invade the outback for a weekend of fishtails and spin-outs. Spin Out finds two best mates, Lucy (Morgan Griffiths) and Billy (Xavier Samuel), going in circles – very fast – It can’t last. They’ve got one night to wake up to their love or they’ll be lost for life.
The film is being shot in Shepparton, a city 184km north of Melbourne. David Redman, the film’s Producer, said “We’re aiming for total authenticity in depicting this taste of Australian life and are committed to working with the Shepparton community, who have been so generous in welcoming us to their beautiful city. With the benefit of their support and our producing partners, we look forward to creating a film which in many ways will be a valentine to the generous, fun-loving, Australian spirit.”
Since leaving the show, Lincoln Lewis has starred in ‘Tomorrow, When the War Began‘, ’33 Postcards’ and TV drama ‘House Husbands‘. He also starred alongside Will Smith in M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth‘, predicted to be his Hollywood breakthrough, but was disappointed to find out most of his performance was left on the cutting room floor.
Lewis played Geoff Campbell on Home and Away for 3 years.
Tessa James has made appearances in TV movie Beaconsfield and series Love Child since leaving Home and Away in 2011. She left the show to pursue a career in Hollywood, but returned to Australia after being diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, and underwent her final bout of treatment at the beginning of the year.
Filming for Spin Out begins on Tuesday 18th August, and is scheduled for release in Australia in mid-2016.
