Samara Weaving, better known to Home and Away fans as Indi Walker, has landed a role in upcoming Hollywood film ‘The Babysitter’, directed by McG, the director behind the Charlie’s Angels film trilogy.

According to Variety, the plot is believed to “follow a 12-year-old boy and his babysitter on a night when things take an unexpected turn for the worst”, and the film has been described as a “coming of age horror story”.

Weaving will star as the babysitter, while Judah Lewis will star as the 12-year-old she’s charged with looking after. Judah Lewis has previously starred in Demolition (2015), Deliverance Creek (2014) and Point Break (2015).

The Babysitter is being produced and directed by McG (real name Joseph McGinty Nichol), who has directed the Charlie’s Angels film franchise and Terminator salvation, and produced popular TV show The OC.

Samara, niece of actor Hugo Weaving, played Indi Walker on Home and Away from 2009 until 2013. She has since starred in Mystery Road alongside fellow ex-Home and Away star Ryan Kwanten, and TV series Squirrel Boys.

A number of ex-Home and Away stars have been tweeting her congratulations, including Luke Mitchell and Kimberley Cooper:

While production on The Babysitter has yet to begin, Home and Away fans don’t have to wait long to catch Samara on screen. She stars in Monster Trucks, alongside Rob Lowe and Danny Glover, which is due out in 2016.
