The prestigious awards, held annually, celebrate the outstanding work of Australian screen directors over the past year.
David Gould, who has directed for Home and Away for 20 years, has been nominated for Episode 6176, one of the ANZAC Day related episodes which saw Alf Stewart collapse and be airlifted to hospital after spending the night on a recreated battlefield.
Gould has previously won the award in 2013 for his work on Episode 5438, which featured Charlie Buckton’s funeral.
Geoffrey Nottage, who has been directing on the show for over a decade, has been nominated for Episode 6341, which saw Maddy & Matt take shelter from the storm in their car, Ricky discovering Nate’s plans to propose, and Irene’s struggle reaching a head as she relapsed and started drinking.
Nottage previously won the 2012 award for Episode 5215 (the 2010 season finale), as well as Episode 5713 in the 2014 awards (Romeo Smith’s departure).
The two are the only ones nominated this year in the TV Drama Serial category. The winner will be announced on Friday 6th May at the ceremony in Melbourne.
