'"Irene thinks we should get back together." "Well, like you
said, she's acting pretty weird!"'
THE INTRO BY THE EDITOR
Its been quite hard to get this issue out. Firstly there were
those problems with the web site, sorry about that! Secondly, I did
not get much response to issue 4, that's why there's a new poll
question in this issue to get you writing! Please reply to as much
as you can in this issue. All your contributions really do help!

This issue's quote comes from Jesse and Selina discussing the
state of their relationship! The new background of this page is
supposedly a load of waves. OK, so it looks like toothpaste but at
least I designed it myself with my humble little painting
programmes! In this issue there's a few more comments about Isobel,
a long and a short answer to How Can You Explain That?, a new How
Can You Explain That? question, and a new trivia question. And
(insert fanfare here) for the first time there is no section about
Donald Fisher! Enjoy! (and reply!) (Thanks!)
CORRECTION!
Those mathmeticians among you might have noticed that the poll #2
results did not add up to 100%! Sorry about that, I missed 5 people
off the list. They do not change the percentages, though, because I
worked them out on paper but they somehow just got missed when
typing up! They should have been...
Blake Dean 6%
Angel Parrish 6%
Martin Dibble 4%
Roo Stewart 4%
Geoff Thomas 4%
NEW POLL QUESTION!!
Well, I'm hoping for some huge replies to this question (hint!)
which was suggested by Jen Till. Do you think Marilyn is a bimbo or
a bubbly caring woman?
GENERAL E-MAILS
ALAN SHADE: I think it is so stupid not showing us the credits -
you know, if I had worked on H&A as a crew member, I would sue
Carlton TV for not showing my name at the end! I remember seeing it
after that Christmas episode - I know why they played it too - they
had cut the episode down to about 5 minutes and had to fill in the
left-over time! Also, one more clue tells us that they are just
recycling the same old "Oooooh-oooh-ooh-ooh-ooh" (sad impression of
that last 'ooooh' at the end of the H&A theme song) at the end of
the episode. It still says Copyright 1996 - when we know the
episodes they are showing are from way into 1997.
Yeah, I agree Lynn would be a good choice. I watched that Home
and Away 2000th Episode video the other day and it was wierd to see
Lynn, Carly, Bobby, Tom, Frank, Roo and all those other people who
used to be in it. I wish they would all come back for one
super-episode! In fact, a while ago I read in a magazine (Inside
Soap I think) that Sharyn Hodgson (Carly) would be coming back for
the 2000th episode...but alas...it wasn't to be!
ISOBEL
I would write her surname as well but the 'e' with an accent
comes out funny on the internet as Isobel DuPrD=69 or something like
that!
ALAN SHADE: Well, I was right, I did change my mind about Isobel!
She has really grown on me, since we heard about her cancer I've
felt really sorry for her and congratulate her on all the stuff she
has been doing...good for her I say!

HOW CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT? REPILES
Last issue I introduced this section and asked for funny answers
only! The question was why did ITV (English TV station) cut Laura's
entire death scene when it first happened and then show it all in
Curtis' flashback sequence?
WILLIAM McDONALD: I can only but try... The ITV censors have been
smoking too much marijuana.
ALAN SHADE: Hmmmm...I think I can explain this. Curtis out of
Home and Away felt that the scenes which were not shown the first
time around needed to be seen this time so we could all share in his
grief and perhaps understand it. So, he flew out to Britain to argue
his case with the Carlton TV censoring chiefs. He spoke to them but
was told to go away because there was no chance the scenes would be
shown - apparantly they may have influenced the British public to
play on railways so they could be like Laura - Curtis was outraged
by this comment and knew that he needed to get the scenes shown. So,
he managed to sneak up to the censorship office where the censorers
were all drinking coffee and watching the censored bits from TV
shows. He then rang the fire alarm in the building and amongst all
the fighting to get down the fire escape first, he popped 3 drinking
pills into each cup of coffee. A couple of hours later, after the
censorers had returned from the hoax fire scare, they were all in a
deep sleep. He then sneaked into their dank, dingy, sad, little
office - stepped over the pizza and empty Coke cans - and grabbed
the uncut tape of that day's Home and Away. He then took it to the
on-screen production unit where it was promptly played as they
thought the censorers had seen to it. Curtis had done what he wanted
to do and had made the country well and truly aware of his huge
grief. So, he flew off back to Australia and lived happily ever. And
that is how the episode got to our screens uncut! If you want to
read the full story then please contact me
at<[email protected]> and request the book "Curtis and
Laura: The Railroad to Depression" and I will be pleased to send you
back the full and unabridged story. Oh, by the way, use the subject
line: "I need help". Thank you.
HOW CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT?
The episode in which Kye hit Pippa has just been shown here in
England. And once again ITV cut the scene! One minute Pippa was
telling Kye to leave and the next minute Shannon was telling Liam to
call an ambulance! So, lets just say Kye didn't hit Pippa (well, if
I didn't have my e-mail friends in Australia I wouldn't have known!)
How can you explain why she was suddenly on the floor? Was she
attacked by an alien laser beam? Remember, funny answers only, no
sensible ones! Send them to the same address. And heres another link
to help you...

TRIVIA ANSWER
Last issue's trivia question was to name the four Stewart
brother's/sisters. Of course the obvious one was Alf. His sisters
were called Celia, Morag (Bellingham) and Barbara (Fisher). Correct
answers came from WILLIAM McDONALD and BEX DOWNEY only!
ADRIAN MURPHY and ALAN SHADE got 3 out of four. Nice try as it
was quite a hard question!
GERARD CALLAGHAN had a rather late answer to issue 2's trivia but
he got the middle name as well - Nick Jasper Parrish!
NEW TRIVIA QUESTION (AND ITS AN EASY ONE!)
Well, I'm sorry the last question was so hard so I've decided to
have an easy one! Who did Ailsa kill? The clue is he was a relative.
Please reply, yes it is worth it because if you *don't* get your
name printed in the next issue it will look a little silly!
SEE YA
That's how I've taken to ending my e-mails so it will do here as
well! *PLEASE* reply and lets make issue #6 the biggest and best
yet! I hope to hear from everyone! Keep smiling!
