Script Competition

The first, and very successful, Back to the Bay Script writing competition has now come to a conclusion, with two very worthy winners about to be announced by Coral. We had a number of really good entries and it was no mean task whittling them down to a final few. All of the judges have read and commented upon every script and we will be sending a summary of their comments to every entrant. The judges read scripts which were each given a number so they had no idea who had written what until after they had come to a conclusion ... although those who regularly frequent the forum's fan fic section did have an inkling as to who might have written one or two of the entries.

We are all keen to know how things progress in relation to these storylines, particularly that of the 17 and under winner, which had everyone gripped and eager to know what comes next, so we very much hope that all of our finalists will post on the forum about how they would take their stories forward.

The judges were headed up by the inimitable Dramaqueen, Coral Drouyn, AWGIE winner and former Script Producer on Home and Away. She was joined in the judging process by forum members John003au, Dean and SkyKat. They spent a lot of time reading and re reading, commenting upon and discussing the various scripts. The Back to the Bay staff would like to personally thank each and every one of them for giving up so much time to this task. It is greatly appreciated. They have been bombarded with e mails and PM's by Frankie, who is already planning next year's competition, and have borne this with fortitude and good humour.

We would particularly like to thank Coral Drouyn, who despite being in the middle of writing an important script, gave up her time to help us anyway. She has also graciously agreed to formally announce the winners....just like they do at the Oscars, the LOGIES and the AWGIES!
