And the winner is...

When I was asked if I would be one
of the judges in the BttB scriptwriting competition, I
wasn't sure what to expect. After all, everyone thinks they
can write, but it's actually harder than it looks. The same
goes for judging - we all had different criteria for what
made a good script.
How exciting was it then to discover we ALL had the same
finalists - and we agreed on the reasons.
The standard was high - several entries would have been
worthy of many writers working in television. The finalists
understood how to build tension, create a new character, end
the scene on a dramatic high-note and leave potential for
ongoing story, as well as being true to established
characters whom we know and love. That's pretty impressive,
and I would certainly be happy to work with the winners on
any show. They are prime candidates for any "New Writers"
scheme,
I want to personally congratulate all of the nominees and to
thank my fellow judges for a really exciting experience.
Talent exists everywhere - and discovering real writers here
was a joy.
And now - the nominees: ( in no special order)
